How do I check availability?
Please call us for availability. We do not have on-line reservations at this time. We are open M-F; 9am to 4p; Hawaii Standard time or your may email us at aloha@kauaiproperties.com
How do I make a reservation ?
Please call us as we will need Visa or MC info to confirm your booking.
What payment methods are accepted: We accept Visa, MC, Cashier’s Check or Money Order.
What is your cancellation policy ?
Full payment is due 60 days prior to arrival (75 days prior for holiday & monthly bookings). For any cancelled bookings prior to payment due date, we have a $100 cancellation fee. Once payment has been made, the reservation is non-refundable UNLESS we are able to re-rent the time reserved.
What are your hours of operation/where is your office located ?
Our office is located on Kauai in Kapa’a. We are open M-F; 9am to 430pm; Hawaii Standard time.
What items are provided in my rental ?
All linens and towels are provided; which includes beach towels. On properties with full kitchen, basic cookware and utensils are provided. We do not provide any food items, beach supplies or toiletries.
Is there a minimum stay required ?
5 night minimum UNLESS we can do a “filler” booking.
What are the taxes ?
7.25% -Transient Accommodations Tax & 4.167% is the General Excise Tax.
Are there additional fees ?
There is a non-refundable reservation fee paid at the time of booking. For month or longer stays, we require a mid stay clean. Price varies; depending on the property.
What is the “holiday rate” and when does it apply ?
Holiday rate applies from 12/15 to 1/5. A daily rate is charged during this period only with a 7 night minimum.
What is the “daily rate” ?
Daily rate for bookings less than one week are slightly higher than the weekly rate. If booking for 6 nights, the charge is at the weekly rate.
What are the check in & check out times ?
Check in is anytime after 3pm and check out is at 10:00am
Can I have a wedding at the property ?
Weddings and large parties are allowed at certain properties. Please call for details.
Can I have a late check out ?
We do offer a “day rate” for late check out. Please inquire at the time of booking.
How do I check in/pick up keys for my rental ?
Once payment has been made, we will email you a confirmation as well as check in instructions.
What if I have an after hours emergency ?
Please call our office at (800) 801-0378 for after hours emergency number.
Is there a security deposit ?
Each property has a security deposit. If paying w/a CREDIT card; we can keep your # on file and not charge the deposit. Debit/Check cards require a security deposit in full payment.
Can I change the credit card on file ?
Once booking has been made and papers signed and returned, we do charge a $25 revision fee.
Is there daily maid service ?
Your rental will be cleaned prior to arrival and upon departure. Daily maid service is not offered unless arranged prior to arrival for a fee. Please call for details.
What is travel insurance ?
Currently we are contracted w/CSA Travel Protection. We send you travel insurance info at the time of booking. This is optional.
Are your rentals non smoking/can I smoke on the lanai ?
ALL of our rentals are non-smoking. Some rentals allow smoking on lanai; on shared properties, smoking is NOT allowed on site. Please inquire at the time of booking. |

What is the best area to stay ?
Finding the best area to stay is really a matter of preference. Please look at the Kauai Visitors Bureau site for more info on Kauai.
Do I need a rental car ?
Rental cars are suggested as public transportation is limited.
What are the beaches like ?
Ocean currents can be strong; we recommend you visit beaches w/lifeguards on site. Please refer to www.kauaiexplorer.com for beach information.
Can you recommend activities ?
We are working on offering you a travel site. Please visit the Kauai Visitors Bureau site www.kauai-hawaii.com.
When is the “rainy season” ?
Due to Kauai being in the tropics, we do have sudden rain showers throughout the year; our “winter” Dec.-March tends to have more rain; again depending on what part of the island you’re staying at.
Do I need a/c ?
Most of the homes in Hawaii are NOT air conditioned; so it is a matter of preference.
Is the island safe ?
Like anywhere in the world, we recommend you use normal precautions while on vacation. Lock your rental car & accommodations at night and do not leave valuables visible in your rental home.
