Worked great for us

Everything was as we expected and the property was well taken care of. Some minor things that I would have wished for: 1) A slightly bigger sink. Washing dishes was a little challenging in such a tiny sink. We were constantly washing dishes to keep the sink empty. Not a huge problem though. 2) A little more counter space. Could just be our preference, but we didn't use the microwave or toaster oven, and would have liked more counter space for cutting fruit, making salads, etc. Two minor exterior bothers: 1) Birds. We didn't take much advantage of the deck simply because the birds would bother us any time we were out there. The surface of the deck and chairs felt in need of a clean.2) Grilling / food smells from nearby pool area. Not a huge deal, but it's kind of a bother to have to keep the door shut so grilling smells and tiki torch fuel smell wafts into our place. One bother about the Grounds:Parking: with some construction in the parking lot, all the lines have been repainted and they are very narrow and there doesn't seem to be enough for all tenants. We regularly had to park in lots just a bit further from where we could enter the grounds. This was only really a bother when arriving / departing with full bags. All in all, we enjoyed the location of the rental, the rental itself and would stay there again if ever on Kauai. Occupants of the other units were super quiet and chilled out and the grounds are very well taken care of.

With a view like this unit gives you, its pretty hard not to enjoy your stay. Some high points of this rental include; the nice 3rd floor view and a super clean, well stocked rental. We also appreciated the timely profession communications with the garden Island properties staff.A minor annoyance with this unit was that the AC seems to need a tuneup. Like the previous guests, we just left it set at the cool max, and it was comfortable, but similar systems in other units responded much quicker than this one. But, we were comfortable. Overall, an easy place to recommend.

We loved this rental and found it exactly as it was described on VRBO. It was very clean with an amazing view of the ocean. We loved hearing the ocean all night and kept the sliding door opened to enjoy the waves and the rain! We would not hesitate to return to this property in the future!

Nice studio size condo centrally located on edge of Kapaa. Unit was clean and furnished with a few dining amenities with limited cooking facilities. Balcony overlooked the ocean without any obstructions and was just a few steps to the beach. Unit had beach chairs, boogie boards and cooler for daily jaunts to other parts of the island. Condo was comfortable but needs some updating along with new towels and sheets. Enjoyed our stay!

We had the most beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise! The location was great; easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. Bed linens and dishes need updating but otherwise a great place to stay.

The Islander was perfect for what we were looking for... a home base to explore Kauai. Well centrally located to drive anywhere and close to shopping, food, gas, restaurants, rentals etc. Our unit had a beautiful ocean view of the sunrise and was close to the pool and hot tub. We used the walking/bike path along the ocean many times.

Sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins and whales pass by or admire the starlit sky. Well located with easy access to everything, you really can't find better for the price. There's great snorkelling (for strong swimmers) right off the beach in front of the bar next door (schools of unicorn fish!). The only negatives - pressure on parking plus no access to the laundry for non Aston booked guests, oh and some decent wine goblets would have been nice.

What else can be said about the great views and true Aloha feeling at this ideal Islander location? Enjoy the amazing views morning through evening, weather permitting, your day is full of activities, biking, hiking, paddle boarding,or just sightseeing, if it rains, wait a few minutes and the sun will most likely return with a rainbow or new flowing waterfalls to enjoy.. Use the provided fridge to make sandwiches or a salad and pick any random empty beach / park for a picnic. We have been staying at the Islander or over 20 years now and still find many 1st time things to do.. This is an ideal property and a well maintained room with no problems. Relax, enjoy....Aloha


A wonderful stay in Kauai

We have stayed at the Islander on the Beach, Room 348, multiple times now. The oceanfront view (can't be over 75 feet from the beach) is a view one never gets tired of seeing or hearing. The room is always clean. The bathroom is always appropriately stocked. The room cleaning service is always timely and professional in the job they do. We thought that the grounds were beautiful. In our mind even better manicured and maintained than before. The location is still perfect for us as we many times just stay on the grounds and the stores and restaurants around the facility. But the location allows us easy access north, south, and west if we want to snorkel, dine out, or just take a drive. We enjoy the room and facility every time!

Though this property is technically privately owned, the Islander staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The room was perfect: comfy bed, clean bathroom, and plenty of space to unpack and store your clothes. The view was gorgeous which made the pricing even more unbelievable. In short, this room is a really great value! Not overly opulent with a matching price tag, but also more than comfortable enough to spend the week. Would highly, highly recommend. Thanks Garden Island Properties for helping to make a wonderful vacation!!


Very Nice for two people

My wife and I rented this unit for one week and really enjoyed our stay. It is not fancy, but was everything we needed with a great view of the ocean from a private lanai. it does have AC, which some rentals do not. It was quiet, safe and convenient for the things we planned to do. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai in the mornings the most and would love to stay in this unit again in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay. The view was more than spectacular. What could be better than that plus listening to the waves break and having a nice ocean breeze blowing in your open patio? The location was convenient as we explored the island both to the north and the south. There was a grill near the pool area which we actually used to make the most amazing ahi tuna steaks. There was an adequate supply of towels both for showers and the pool, and the kitchen was well stocked - even had a cork screw! We would definitely recommend this place!

Great facilitates, close to local shopping centre, restaurants in the neighbouring resorts. Swimming only appropriate with good weather. We got to see a Monk Seal sunning its self right outside the unit one morning

Had a wonderful stay at Islander on the Beach #348. The location is a great central location for activities all over the island. The only two complaints would the lack of parking and the musty smell that greeted us when opening the unit. I can only assume that the unit had been closed up for a few days. The smell pretty much cleared within a couple of hours of airing it out. The sound of the surf was wonderful and waking up to the sunrise every morning on the balcony was amazing!

of.

Some minor things that I would have wished for:
1) A slightly bigger sink. Washing dishes was a little challenging in such a tiny sink. We were constantly washing dishes to keep the sink empty. Not a huge problem though.
2) A little more counter space. Could just be our preference, but we didn't use the microwave or toaster oven, and would have liked more counter space for cutting fruit, making salads, etc.

Two minor exterior bothers:
1) Birds. We didn't take much advantage of the deck simply because the birds would bother us any time we were out there. The surface of the deck and chairs felt in need of a clean.
2) Grilling / food smells from nearby pool area. Not a huge deal, but it's kind of a bother to have to keep the door shut so grilling smells and tiki torch fuel smell wafts into our place.

One bother about the Grounds:
Parking: with some construction in the parking lot, all the lines have been repainted and they are very narrow and there doesn't seem to be enough for all tenants. We regularly had to park in lots just a bit further from where we could enter the grounds. This was only really a bother when arriving / departing with full bags.

All in all, we enjoyed the location of the rental, the rental itself and would stay there again if ever on Kauai. The oceanfront view (can't be over 75 feet from the beach) is a view one never gets tired of seeing or hearing. The room is always clean. The bathroom is always appropriately stocked. The room cleaning service is always timely and professional in the job they do. We thought that the grounds were beautiful. In our mind even better manicured and maintained than before. The location is still perfect for us as we many times just stay on the grounds and the stores and restaurants around the facility. The room was perfect: comfy bed, clean bathroom, and plenty of space to unpack and store your clothes. The view was gorgeous which made the pricing even more unbelievable. It is not fancy, but was everything we needed with a great view of the ocean from a private lanai. it does have AC, which some rentals do not. [review] => We really enjoyed our stay. The view was more than spectacular. What could be better than that plus listening to the waves break and having a nice ocean breeze blowing in your open patio? The location was convenient as we explored the island both to the north and the south. There was a grill near the pool area which we actually used to make the most amazing ahi tuna steaks. There was an adequate supply of towels both for showers and the pool, and the kitchen was well stocked - even had a cork screw! We would definitely recommend this place! The location is a great central location for activities all over the island. The only two complaints would the lack of parking and the musty smell that greeted us when opening the unit. I can only assume that the unit had been closed up for a few days. The smell pretty much cleared within a couple of hours of airing it out.
