Beautiful on the beach.

Great location on the house. Walk to the town for manny funny places. Good distance to see the Island. good with 3 bathrom. Uppstairsbedrom god. Downsatairs need to change the bed and need aircondition. The sleeping sofa in living rom not comfortabel for adult to sleep in and we had asked about that berore renting. So do some new bed and aircondition downstairs then we would love to come back.

Kapa'a by the Sea was truly a perfect central location! The house was well equipped and quiet. We enjoyed the ocean view and walking to shops and restaurants in this quaint, vintage beach town. It was very difficult to leave, and we will return another day.

We had a fabulous family girl's trip. The house was in a perfect location on the island. We loved waking up to the ocean waves and sunrise's. Being so close to the beach and the bike path was wonderful for all of our family members. We also loved being able to walk to restaurants and shopping. The roosters definitely added character and a show occasionally. We were very glad there was AC for the nights. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We hiked several areas, paddle boarded, surfed, walked and jogged the bike path. The best part of the house was sitting on the lanai watching the waves and occasional whales. We would all definitely stay there again.

The property description is accurate, very clean and maintained. Service was non-existent. No one answered the emergency #, no one checked in with us upon arrival. Not enough towels for guests and request for more was denied. No toaster, but a toaster oven older than me (and that's old). The outdoor shower was disabled was no more than a garden hose. For the price I would have expected better customer service. Will not be returning.

The location was perfect and close to lots of restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the walking path everyday. View from all patios was wonderful! Property management was responsive when we had the need for a minor repair. There are only two things that could use improvement: 1. the couches and overstuffed chairs were old, lumpy and very uncomfortable. I would recommend that the owner replace them so that there is at least someplace comfortable to sit. 2. There were too few sets of bath towels requiring us to do laundry too often. I would recommend that the owner buy a few more sets of bath towels. Otherwise...the place was truly wonderful!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our 9-night stay in this wonderful family-sized home. It was the perfect location--essentially on the city beach and running/jogging/bicycling path that runs between Donkey and Lygate beaches, but in the heart of Kapa'a just behind Hee Fat's and Olympic Cafe. There was plenty of common space and outdoor decks to accommodate eight of us. The kitchen was serviceable, parking great, beds comfortable, internet and cable working fine, and the sun rose every morning right in front of us. Not a quiet or private location, but clean and well maintained, though not fancy. Excellent customer service and professional management from Garden Island Properties Real Estate. We hope this review is not so positive that we will have trouble securing a rental every year, but the review is deserved.


Thanksgiving holiday

Our family of 7 stayed over Thanksgiving. This was a perfect place to stay on kuai. Sitting on the upper lanai watching the ocean every morning and evening was the highlight of our stay. It is right in the small village of Kapaa so shopping was easy. There is a wonderful shop with all kinds of sewing material. Also lots of small shops to browse. Convenient for traveling north or south on the island. I did wish there was an air conditioning unit in the lower level but we got by with the overhead fan. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a nice place to stay that wants relaxation and to sit and listen to the unending sound of the ocean.

Kapp'a by the Sea was wonderful. There is nothing that describe waking up to the sound of the waves rolling in to the beach. This is followed by an awe inspiring sunrise every morning. The parking area easily allowed for two vehicles. The house had everything necessary for our stay. The lanai was a favorite place to hang out, day or night.

We enjoyed our stay at this beachfront home. The location was good being beachfront with great views, centrally located in Kapaa, and walking distance to local restaurants, shops and some activities like bike rentals (recommend that you do so and bike the public path - a great 1.5-2.0 hour activity).A/C was a plus, but did not have much impact on downstairs bedroom. Worked nicely upstairs.Management company was helpful and responsive.We give this a thumbs up. 🙂


Great House and Location!

Kapa'a by the Sea was a great rental for us. The location can't be beat. The Pacific ocean is out the front door and the shops and restaurants of Kapa'a are one block away out the back door! The house was clean and well cared for. We were a little worried about having no A/C downstairs, but because of the ocean breezes, it was not an issue. And we were there in the beginning of June 2016. I had seen mention of the daycare next door in some of the reviews but it wasn't an issue for us, either. The folks at Garden Island Properties were gracious and helpful. We have stayed at the posh resorts in Poipu when we have come to Kauai before and this was even better! We will be back!


Ideal home in an ideal location

We had a fantastic time with our nuclear family of four, the kids grandparents, aunt, and cousin. The views were stunning day and night. At night, leave the lights off on the lanai and let your eyes adjust. The air conditioning was welcome at the height of the day and kept the place dry. Grandpa could enjoy a little privacy downstairs if the upstairs got to rowdy. The place was clean with no bugs except for the stray fly that was our fault for letting in. This was our 10th anniversary and we're planning on coming back to the same house on our 20th. We've already recommended the place to friends.

This place is terrific, a no brainer if you're sharing with other couples. The house is huge, and the main patio is so great. (we spent most of our time there) the location is perfect if you're planning on staying in kapaa, and it's walking distance to everything you need. The preschool next door was not as noisy as you would expect, actually the roosters were noisier!Would book this place again in a heartbeat.

This is our second stay at this property. Each time we brought a son and wife and two grandchildren. This house is perfect for grandkids and family. We let them have the upstairs, and we take the downstairs. It's right on the bike path in Kapaa, which is fabulous. We like the location because it's near grocery shopping and store shopping. Very affordable. Great to be able to sit on deck and see the ocean. Open your windows and hear the ocean at night. We'll likely stay hear a third time when we bring another son. We've got four. Also, the management company was very helpful. Our son didn't bring their pack and play for their 1 1/2 year old. I called them and asked about getting one. They said they had one at their office I could borrow. When I got there, they told the owner they thought it was a good idea to have one on the property -- the owner bought one - we had a new pack and play and I believe they plan to leave it there for other guests.

We loved our stay here- the couches are a bit tired, but otherwise it was perfect. A great location 1.5 blocks from the shops and just a walkway between you and the beach. The water wasn't too wavy right out front, even with small kids. I miss that upstairs lanai!

Fantastic location!! We had a wonderful time! This was perfect for 3 couples. 3BR 3Bath with full kitchen. The deck is great with ocean view. Cannot hear the town from there because of the waves:) We had to buy a corkscrew/bottle opener, foil, plastic wrap, paper towels, dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent. Only 2 kitchen towels but lots of towels including beach towels. There was no fuel for the bbq so bought that. Relatives of house owner live in house behind and they were very nice and fixed a chair for us and brought bananas:) Sheets in master BR smelled funky so washed them 2nd day.

The Pacific ocean is out the front door and the shops and restaurants of Kapa'a are one block away out the back door! The house was clean and well cared for. We were a little worried about having no A/C downstairs, but because of the ocean breezes, it was not an issue. And we were there in the beginning of June 2016. I had seen mention of the daycare next door in some of the reviews but it wasn't an issue for us, either. The folks at Garden Island Properties were gracious and helpful. We have stayed at the posh resorts in Poipu when we have come to Kauai before and this was even better! We will be back! [review] => This is our second stay at this property. Each time we brought a son and wife and two grandchildren. This house is perfect for grandkids and family. We let them have the upstairs, and we take the downstairs. It's right on the bike path in Kapaa, which is fabulous. We like the location because it's near grocery shopping and store shopping. Very affordable. Great to be able to sit on deck and see the ocean. Open your windows and hear the ocean at night. We'll likely stay hear a third time when we bring another son. We've got four. Also, the management company was very helpful. Our son didn't bring their pack and play for their 1 1/2 year old. I called them and asked about getting one. They said they had one at their office I could borrow. When I got there, they told the owner they thought it was a good idea to have one on the property -- the owner bought one - we had a new pack and play and I believe they plan to leave it there for other guests. Only 2 kitchen towels but lots of towels including beach towels. There was no fuel for the bbq so bought that.
