Kapaa Shore Resort A308, Oceanfront

We had a perfect vacation at Kapa’a Shore Resort. Everything was clean and very well equipped. Loved hearing the waves from the loft bedroom.
Watching the sunrise with morning coffee was ideal. The pool was enjoyed by the children. The condo was close to many attractions. Having Safeway across the street was helpful. The property management team was always responsive to any concerns or needs.

We can’t say enough about the incredible view from this condo. Watching the sunrise with a coffee in hand, from the balcony each morning was definitely a highlight of our vacation. Hearing the constant crashing waves was pretty special too! It didn’t matter that there wasn’t a swimmable beach on site as exploring the tide pools was great fun for all ages. The location was perfect - always a beach, restaurants and shopping nearby. Driving to either the south or north shore was really convenient too! We found this condo to be very clean and in good condition. It was well equipped and had everything on we needed. The communication from Garden Island properties was perfect - straight forward and in touch as little or a much as needed. We would highly recommend and hope to be back one day soon!

This is a wonderful property in a fantastic location. The condo is incredibly well equipped with a wonderful view of the ocean. The condo complex is clean and very well kept. The location is great for getting to any part of the island and is convenient to restaurants and grocery stores. There is not a usable beach in the complex but you can easily walk to beaches and get onto walking/biking trails that can take you for miles.

There were 4 of us and we stayed 6 nights. The condo is old and dated. The picture was misleading. We chose this one because of the proximity to the beach. Ha, there is no beach! It is all slippery rocks and you can't swim anywhere within walking distance. The Lemongrass restaurant across the street was wonderful.

We loved this condo! Sipping coffee every morning while watching the beautiful sunrise on our balcony and then enjoying our breakfast there. It was The perfect location to all of our activities, including shopping, great restaurants, the tubing adventure, Lydgate Farms tour, kayak and hike tour etc. Everything we needed was provided in the condo! It was so comfortable and relaxing and how fun to be able to sleep with all the windows and sliding glass door open hearing the sounds of the waves on the beach! I will definitely come back here again! Don’t even look at anywhere else to stay!

Great location, nice condo with a kitchen that had all the items we needed to cook when not eating at restaurants. The rental management company was very quick to respond to any issues. The only thing that would make it better would be window coverings in the bedrooms In the afternoon the bedrooms got hot.

We had the best experience here. The host had the entire house decorated cute with a strong Hawaiian theme and it was absolutely wonderful. The host was gracious enough to provide beach supplies, (towels, chairs, water boards, coolers, etc.) If we come back to the island, we will definitely be staying here again! We were on the east side of the island and got to see a gorgeous sunrise every morning from our private balcony. The only down side was no A/C but we didn’t even need it. The house had plenty of fans and ventilation that there was a breeze constantly and kept us nice and cool. The locals told us “who needs AC when you have Hawaiian air!” And they were right. We have no complains at all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Sarah Bach Cater was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We received an email with the code to get into the condo making it a very easy check in. It fit our family of 6, and wonderful with two full bathrooms to use. The ocean view was incredible and very relaxing. We enjoyed using the snorkel gear, pool noodles, chairs and coolers. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed. Our kids really enjoyed the pool and the bbq area for dinners. Our family rated this Airbnb 5 stars. We would love to stay there again when we visit Kauai in the future. Thank you, we loved our stay. It had everything we needed and hoped for. If we return to Kauai we would love to book this place again.

We had a great stay at Kapaa Shore. Our apartment had a great view and it was awesome waking up to see the sun rise over the ocean right from the balcony. The apartment was well stocked and the location was great too just walking distance from the Safeway and the Shave ice shop :)

The view from the balcony could not be beat! It was often windy out there in the evenings, though. It was a little warm in the condo, but having the patio door open and the front door open acted like a wind tunnel and cooled things off nicely (except for the front bedroom with the twin and queen - that room was very hard to keep cool, especially since the window only opens in the middle a little). The only other issues besides that was the beds in that room were very hard & uncomfortable. We actually found the pull out couch in the living room more comfortable than the beds in the front bedroom. And, the shower head in the main bath doesn't stay up well and kept falling during our showers. These were overall fairly minor things out of the overall wonderful experience of Kauai. The upper loft king bed was more comfortable and that upper shower worked well. The place had everything you needed, even beach equipment. The kitchen was well equipped. It was in a great location where you could walk to Safeway and many stores and restaurants (I recommend Coconuts Fish Market and the Lava Lava Beach club). There is a sand beach just a little ways down you can walk to. It was not a far drive to get to the south or north sides of the island, which is where we had much of our activities planned. I would recommend this place for sure.

The condo was clean, well appointed, enough space for our family of five. The kitchen had absolutely everything you may need. I appreciated having beach towels and gear provided for us. We did NOT miss the AC. We opened the balcony door and turned the fans on and it was very pleasant. Hearing the ocean waves at night as you sleep is very special. The beach just outside is beautiful for strolling, but not for swimming: rocky shore. My kids liked the pool—decent size; I liked hanging out in the jacuzzi at the end of the day. The location was perfect for us, first-time visitors to Kauai. It is only 15 minutes from the airport, but there was no airport noise. And it is kind of in the center of things, the mid point between the north and south shores. It was a good base for us to travel to all the points of interest. Wailua falls is only 25 minutes away. A grocery store right across the street. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity, some within minutes of walking. Ample parking in the complex. I also appreciated that there are bins for recycling in the trash enclosure. Lastly, I must mention the view as we left the condo each morning. From the vantage point of our third floor condo, you can see mountains in the distance, verdant, tall, grand, breathtaking. That view put a smile on my face every morning.

Loved the location - close to stores, groceries, and restaurants. The condo was very comfortable and our ocean facing 3rd floor balcony was a real treat, as was the pool and hot tub. Wished the beach was sandier, but the walking/riding path lead to lovely sandy beaches close by. Great spot for a small family. Be aware - no AC or elevator.

This condo has been updated and includes a two bedrooms and two baths. Upstairs master bedroom is a loft with beautiful large bathroom and closets. Overhead windows allow the perfect breeze. Kitchen is nicely remodeled and furnished. View is amazing and with front door and sliding glass patio door open produces a constant breeze that is intoxicating. I love this condo! Could imagine retiring here... you would never get tired of the view and breeze.

This condo was perfect for our vacation. It was clean, very well stocked (in the kitchen, with paper goods, and beach supplies) and has beautiful views. Quiet area. This was the first time staying in Kapa'a and it was a great place with easy access to anywhere on the island. We had a problem signing into Wifi the first day and Sarah was there in minutes to solve the problem. I love getting information regularly before our trip from Garden Island Properties. Overall this was a wonderful experience.

The quality of property management and concern by the staff for their guests was evident even before we had landed on the island. They helped us get the best possible rate for our weeklong stay by going above and beyond anything else I have experienced. The property is clean, with updated appliances, and the sea front location is as good as it gets. The condo has everything one needs for a beach vacation such as chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels etc. The kitchen has all necessary appliances. The staff from Garden Properties were super helpful and responsive to our questions. We will rent from this group any day. They are top class.

Excellent unit. Lots of space and nicely updated. Can't beat the view! Sunrise was a must see every morning. Close to shops and grocery stores. Kapaa is perfectly situated between Princeville / Hanalei Bay and Poipu. We spent a lot of time on the south side of the island but the drive was easy and beautiful.

There is no beach on this particular property but it is fun to walk the shore at low tide and see all the tide pools. There is a beach up the road behind the Coconut Marketplace that is great for cooling off and bobbing in the water.

This condo unit is located in a small 80 unit family friendly complex where most units have an ocean view. It is an ideal location, walking distance from grocery stores, restaurants, churches and a beautiful 5 mile long multi use coastal trail. The unit was clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and miscellaneous beach supplies. Our party consisted of 4 adults and 2 small children using only the two bedrooms. A group of 6 adults would need to use the living room hide a bed. The staff at Garden Island Properties, who manage the unit are extremely friendly and helpful. A side note is that there are no elevators and this unit is on the third floor. There also is no air conditioning in the units, however the ceiling fans and trade winds generally provide natural air conditioning.

And I had a rough time sleeping in the bed upstairs seems older maybe a new Mattress or cover would help but again who wanted to sleep!

We enjoyed our 5 night stay at Kapaa Shores 308. The condo is a little dated, but they have done enough updates to make it feel pleasant. Do not stay here unless you are okay with warm temps at night. Without air conditioning, the condo remains very hot, even with the breeze that occasionally can blow through the unit.

My husband and I recently got married on Kauai, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kapaa Shore Resort #308. This was our first time to Kauai, and the resort was centerally located to everything on the island. We loved that the condo came equipped with beach chairs, towels, and snorkeling gear. We also loved having a washer and dryer in the unit. Our only complaint is that the patio door handle wouldnt lock and was quite worn. Other than that, the condo was clean and equipped with everything we needed. We would definitely stay in #308 again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was everything we expected with a fantastic ocean view. There is no air conditioning, which we knew before we booked, for us it was fine but I think some people would have an issue with it. It is a loft, and one improvement I would like would be a door to the upstairs bedroom. We had a problem with our microwave during our stay, so I left a message on the Garden Island Properties app and the very next day they installed a brand new microwave, We were very impressed by their service. We were happy with the location of the condominium. There is a Safeway virtually across the street and several restaurants within walking distance. The beach right in front of the property is not a swim beach and the pool is not overly impressive, however there are good green areas with lots of lounge chairs and I got good use out of the grills. The unit was well equipped with some beach chairs, a couple of smaller coolers and a few beach toys. We contributed a boogie board to the mix. We enjoyed our stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Kapaa Shore is a great location - makes all of the north side of the island as well as Lihue and Poipu accessible.

Across the street there is very good array of shopping with Papayas healthy groceries and deli, Safeway, along with Starbucks, VIP bakery and more.

The condo itself is good. We took advantage of the provided beach chairs, but chose to rent our own mask & snorkel.

Some items that need to be addressed:
1 - the dishwasher falls out of its resting point. Its quite old, doesn't wash dishes well and when full of dishes and the racks swung out, literally tips forward.
2 - the upstairs bed is pretty well worn and caved in. I like much more firm beds.
3 - while we kept the overhead windows open upstairs, the surf is quite loud and the provided long closer will not close the windows. They seem to be rusted open.
4 - many units now use a code instead of a key to open the door. Mechanical keys are not nearly as convenient. This is a small gripe but would make it even easier to run in an out.

Other than those 3 main concerns, the rest of the unit was well furnished, clean and functional.

First thing you see when you walk in is pure ocean. And you can hear it and it's lovely. The upstairs loft has high ceilings with up high windows, a very pleasant space. The layout was perfect for this visit with our two teenage sons. This isn't a showy super resorty place with fancy water slides, etc. but it has everything you need. You can't beat its location on the island. The pool was so nice and so are the people. We will book this property again with no hesitation whatsoever. The dishwasher and I were not friends, they need to install a new one, but it was not an issue really because the place is so great! Oh and don't forget to set your alarm for the sunrises. They are just gorgeous!

I didn't know whether to give it 4 stars and emphasize the cons, or 3 stars and emphasize the pros. I went with the latter. It's really a 3.5 rating.

PROS
- Great view. Right up front, 180° ocean view. For the rate, tough beat the value for the view.
- The king bed upstairs was very comfy. On the soft side which we like. Nice soft sheets too.
- Location is great for east side, right smack in the middle of town. Very convenient for grocery shopping. And a nice central location to go both north and south for the day.
- Pool and hot tub was clean.

CONS
- The overall condition of the place was 'adequate.' Not great but not bad. It really needs some updating and TLC. But for the view, it's a good value.
- Really could use A/C. I know it's Hawaii, yada, yada. But A/C just to keep the humidity down at night would be a huge plus. The trades do a great job of cooling it down at night but when they die down or missing for the day, the place can turn into a sauna.
- The furniture was 'tired.' Uncomfortable for the most part.

BOTTOM LINE
Would I stay there again? No. I'll pay more for a more updated unit with a/c.
Would I recommend to a friend? Yes, but only to those friends who value view and convenience over amenities and comfort.

Our condo was perfect! Perfect central location to both Norh and South Island. Beautiful cozy interior and a view that is indescribable in its beauty! Loved that there was a washer/dryer in the condo. Would rent this condo on this amazing property in a second! Again and again and again! Mahal for making our stay relaxing and inviting.

The view and location on this unit can not be beat. There are things that have been done to the unit that has made it nicer. The walk in shower in the upstairs bath is great. Glass doors not so much. I'm on vacation and not cleaning glass shower doors. This was our 5th stay in this unit. There are things that could be done to make it better. More comfortable furniture on the lanai. The beds are not great. I know they replaced the king mattress yet it is so soft when you sit on it you sink halfway to the box spring. We were there for 3 weeks and for the last week I had to shift to the downstairs bed because I was tired of not sleeping and waking in pain. Hubby could sleep but woke in pain. The downstairs bed was firmer yet lumpy. I know this is primarily a rental unit yet good beds are so important. We won't be staying there next year. We are trying another unit in the same complex. Keeping fingers crossed for better beds. The type of tile they have on the floor and the laminate flooring stay dirty. Wash wash wash your feet. More storage containers for left overs would be nice too. They do provided beach chairs and towels but the towels have seen better days. As stated before the location is the best and we enjoy the complex. It is fairly quiet and low key.

We loved our #308 condo! We are currently World Mark members and have stayed at Kapaa Shores many times and just love it! Our condo has a beautiful view! It was clean and comfortable and well stocked with necessities, more than we even expected! Just a few concerns: front door was difficult to unlock, living room carpet has 2 corners curled up, easy for tripping, the fridge leaked underneath, the kitchen sink started to leak below on our last day, and the upstairs closet doors kept falling off their track and were extremely difficult to move. Darcy came and gave us new towels, new sheets, and any necessities we ran out of that she could supply us with. Darcy was wonderful! And Laelani at Garden Island Properties was always friendly and wonderful to work with as well! Thank you so much for a fun place to stay!! We'd recommend it to our friends!!!!

Location was perfect and as described - Unit was very comfortable and the grounds and pool were kept beautifully. A very convenient area to stay with 3 grocery stores within walking distance, also the weekly farmers market. Very nice to pickup coffee each morning at the office before walking along beachfront trail. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
