Great location, needs improvements.

This complex is very well located, easy access. Nice pools and hot tubs, BBQs, etc. Very well maintained complex. Unit we rented was ok, but definitely needs some maintenance and improvements. The lanai is useless, it has a carpet which is constantly wet due to sprinklers starting every morning. AC is inefficient and very noisy. It can barely cool the condo, so much waste of power. Unit is on the first floor, and poor orientation keeps natural lighting from entering the condo. Definitely needs more lighting fixtures, it is a very dark unit. Hard to make all towels and wet bathing suits dry, not enough fixtures to hang them (forget hanging them outside, sprinklers are waiting for you !). Curtains hard to open or close, mecanisms should be repaired (and bedroom pole felt like it was coming off the wall). We had a great time in Kauai, we did not stay it the unit much. For such a high price, we wish owners would keep minimal maintenance on the unit. We rented other condos in Maui and Big Island for about the same price, and they were high end units.

The condo is clean and fairly well maintained. The location is very convenient. I would rent it again, but I wouldn't put two adults in the hide a bed. The two who slept in it said they both rolled to the center of the bed and were not very comfortable. They need to replace the bathroom fan, fix the sticky bathroom door, do something about the shower curtain rod (it was almost impossible to avoid flooding the floor when showering) and provide a broom and dust pan for the inevitable sand. These are small complaints, and overall we had a great stay!

Thank you for asking for my input regarding my stay in Nov. Everything was really great. The condo was especially clean and i appreciated all the supplies the owner provided, esp. enough toilet paper to last for the whole 2 wks! It was nice to have salt & pepper, napkins, paper towels, etc. There were lots of clean towels and cleaning supplies. I think that the person who cleans this unit should be complimented and I hope the owner knows how important the cleanliness was to me. Great job to whomever takes care of this unit! The only slight complaint I have is that the sliding door from the living room to the lanai was locked and I could not open it. I like to get fresh air, esp. when I'm cooking, so that was unfortunate. Otherwise I have no complaints and would like to thank the owner, the cleaning person and Garden Island Properties for providing such a nice unit and helping to make my stay a wonderful experience.


G-7 Great Unit

G-7 is a well maintained unit with lots of kitchen utensils, towels, bedding, etc. Very clean and easy walking distance to the newly being remodeled Coconut Marketplace Shopping Center. Also only a short walk to Longs Drug and even two grocery stores as well as other restaurants. A local farmers market is held at the Shopping center on Tues and Thur which has very reasonable prices for fresh fruits and vegetables.

I was really impressed with the security provided at Plantation Hale. My sister and I were pleased to see the constant presence of those little motor carts; we felt safe at all times. Also, using the pool was a delightful way to cool off and relax at the end of the day. We loved our G-7 unit and would ask for that same one next time. Aloha!

Located in kapaa, it was exactly what we wanted : safe place, clean, with everything we needed : kitchen, etc. More, there were chairs and umbrella to go to the beach. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitively recommended it.

PLANTATION HALE GETS AN A-

My experience was excellent as a whole. The location is ideal on the east coast, easy access to other parts of the island. Also the resort is convenient, attractive, and accomodations are very good. I have a few minor issues with my unit, which was privately owned. Mainly the lighting was poor. Other family members (my son's family in another private unit, my brother's family in two units that were not private) had better lighting and nore attractive furnishings. I realize that as a private unit, the owners have a right to furnish the unit as they choose, but they do need better lighting in this one! Also the door between the sink and toilet stuck shut and I was nearly locked in! After considerable twisting and turning I managed to get it open and made sure I didn't shut it for the rest of my stay! There was also a breakdown in communication as to check-out time. My son was told it was noon, but actually it was 10 AM for private units. My son's family was almost literaly thrown out of their unit but the woman who came to clean mine was EXTREMELY nice and helped me get out my belongings in reasonble time and I would like to commend her for her patience. I would recommend, however, that guests rent a non-private unit if possible. My son made the reservation for me and I think we did save some money. These few negatives,however, do not take away the overall satisfaction with your resort.

[review] => This complex is very well located, easy access. Nice pools and hot tubs, BBQs, etc. Very well maintained complex. Unit we rented was ok, but definitely needs some maintenance and improvements. The lanai is useless, it has a carpet which is constantly wet due to sprinklers starting every morning. AC is inefficient and very noisy. It can barely cool the condo, so much waste of power. Unit is on the first floor, and poor orientation keeps natural lighting from entering the condo. Definitely needs more lighting fixtures, it is a very dark unit. Hard to make all towels and wet bathing suits dry, not enough fixtures to hang them (forget hanging them outside, sprinklers are waiting for you !). Curtains hard to open or close, mecanisms should be repaired (and bedroom pole felt like it was coming off the wall). We had a great time in Kauai, we did not stay it the unit much. For such a high price, we wish owners would keep minimal maintenance on the unit. We rented other condos in Maui and Big Island for about the same price, and they were high end units. The location is very convenient. I would rent it again, but I wouldn't put two adults in the hide a bed. The location is ideal on the east coast, easy access to other parts of the island. Also the resort is convenient, attractive, and accomodations are very good. I have a few minor issues with my unit, which was privately owned. Mainly the lighting was poor. Other family members (my son's family in another private unit, my brother's family in two units that were not private) had better lighting and nore attractive furnishings. I realize that as a private unit, the owners have a right to furnish the unit as they choose, but they do need better lighting in this one! Also the door between the sink and toilet stuck shut and I was nearly locked in! After considerable twisting and turning I managed to get it open and made sure I didn't shut it for the rest of my stay! There was also a breakdown in communication as to check-out time. My son was told it was noon, but actually it was 10 AM for private units. My son's family was almost literaly thrown out of their unit but the woman who came to clean mine was EXTREMELY nice and helped me get out my belongings in reasonble time and I would like to commend her for her patience. I would recommend, however, that guests rent a non-private unit if possible. My son made the reservation for me and I think we did save some money.
