Plantation Hale G5, Garden Unit, Ground Floor

This is a nice place for a Kauai stay. It is located about midway between Honolei (sp) and Waimea canyon so you have good access to the entire island. The room was nice although the couch was not the most comforyable to sit on. there is a lot of traffic noise from the highway but if really did not take long to get used to it. We never heard anything at night, The unit is pretty well equiped. It has everything needed for casual cooking. Also, if you stay there be sure to check out the Coconut marketplace just south of you. Wonderful place and lots of food options.

Lovely condo, great location, just a block from the ocean and within short walking distance of lots of great eateries and shops. We enjoyed hiking, biking along the ocean (Hele on Kauai Bike a rental), kayaking (Kayak Wailua) as well as visiting Waimea Canyon and Wailua Falls, and lots of other activities. Kapa’a is great base for day trips by car to other parts of the island. We appreciated the full kitchen in the condo and all of the beach gear (beach towels, chairs, umbrella, cooler). Staff at Garden Island Properties were kind and helpful. We would love to stay here again!

Plantation Hale suites is in an excellent location. The room was in somewhat clean. There was a BO odor on the throw pillows. Also because G5 is next to the laundromat, it was noisy at times.

This condo had everything necessary for a vacation stay. It wasn't fancy and it was a bit dated, but it was clean and had lots of little amenities like beach chairs and coolers etc that facilitated day trips. Access to Longs drugs and Coconut Marketplace came in handy. The Market, though a bit pricey is well stocked and the delivery, bakery, ice cream and coffee shop could satisfy almost any craving more than adequately.Great central location for exploring the remainder of the island. Pool at facility was ok....bar b que and hot tub in proximity.Perhaps the only downside was the beach which was within walkable distance was not conducive to swimming; narrow, rip tides, large trees washed up etc. , though it was quite a pretty view. The large field in between condos and the beach had been taken over by a combination of impromptu campers and some longer term residents( perhaps homeless) who had enclaves that were often messy and uninviting. These blocked access in many cases and many of these folks were a bit sketchy and really didn't put out a welcoming vibe. They clearly saw this as their turf in spite of signs indicating no camping, it obviously was not being enforced. There were many nice beaches nearby; Lydegate Park is about a 5 minute drive and is really nice. Recommend: Waimea, coffee plantation and Poipu Beach on the east side and Ha ena at the end of the road as well as Annie Beach on the West. Lots of quaint places to visit all over, but also lots of spending touristy shops etc if that's what your looking for. Did a flight around the island which was spectacular and in my mind worth the cost...approximately $ 160/ person.Great island for scenery, vegetation and perusing dream homes.

This home away from home is located in the perfect spot. Just a couple minute walk to a beautiful beach, sunrise is the best time. 5 minute walk to coconut marketplace. There is a big ABC store for all your needs. This property is located perfect for going north or south. You're right in the middle, limiting your travel time so you can make the most out of your day. The unit is just as pictured. Clean and very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen, beach towels and cooler. I saw reviews of road noise, but it didn't seem noisy at all with the exception of an occasional siren. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for six days at Plantation Hale Suites unit G5 from October 26-Nov 1, 2022. Our first impression of the property was a little disappointing. The property in general seemed run down and our unit was adjacent to the main road going through Kapaa with lots of road noise except late at night. The condo was small but adequate. The lanai was uninviting due mainly to traffic noise. Although the property wasn't beachfront, it was only a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed walking from our condo several times each day.
Our unit was very well supplied in terms of kitchen essentials, especially for seasoning, oils etc. as well as plates, pots, and pans. Laundry supplies were more that adequate. Beach essentials were also great: 4 chairs, a beach umbrella, a nice cooler, and many beach towels. We ejoyed the 5 minute walk to the Coconut Marketplace, especially in the evening.

This condo made our visit enjoyable, safe and comfortable. The owners thoughtfully provided many items which a hotel could not. Clean, updated and cozy this condo made our stay on beautiful Kauai even more pleasurable.

The property was great. Parking was always available. We checked in and walked two minutes to a beautiful beach. Right next to the property is a great market with some good eating options and JoJo's Shave Ice, which we got every night. The place was clean. It was really nice having an air conditioning in the living room and the bedroom. They weren't very powerful, but worked well enough to keep the place comfortable. The pull-out bed was easy and sheets and blankets were supplied. One of our favorite amenities was that they supplied a bag and cooler, beach chairs, an umbrella, and beach towels. This is important to us because we can't haul all of that stuff on the plane, and we don't want to buy it just for a few days on the island. Our only complaint was that the beach umbrella was broken, so we couldn't use it. And the unit next to us supplied the renters with boogie boards, which would have been a nice touch. I'd recommend the owners invest in a new umbrella and some boogie boards, as this is one of the things we look for in a rental like this. Overall, the place was great. It's an awesome location that puts you close to Lihue, and at a good halfway point between Princeville and Waimea. Lots of great beaches close by, and good food options. I recommend, and we will probably be back.

Our flight got in late but no problem. They have a security guard on duty so he was able to get us into our condo. The overall experience was great. Great location, well equipped condo. My only complaint was the musty smell. I assume it was from the A/C units in the condo. Otherwise, nice layout, great bed, big bathroom and the pool and hot tub were perfect. Right across the street was a nice path down to the beach which was perfect for watching the sunrise. Central on the island so getting to activities was great. Close to shopping. We had a great stay and I would definitely stay here again, if we go back to Kauai!

absolutely loved the place we stayed in. open communication with the rental property at all times. was expecting to hear the traffic a lil more than usual since it was complained about so much in the reviews but honestly didn’t hear it much so it definitely wasn’t a bother for us. we will definitely be coming back next year

This was the best! The hosts graciously provided so many little extras such as a pantry stocked with all the right cooking equipment, a few spices and basics, pool/beach chairs, umbrellas, ice chest, etc. The furniture and bed were comfortable. Shower was great. What more can I say? I wish I were planning another trip to Kauai!

the location on East side was great so easy to head North, South etc. the unit is in town near shops, restaurants, & not too far from the beach! it's also last one so you do hear road noise. kitchen was well equipped, we didn't use the BBQ just the pool. I used blender daily for healthy smoothies. was good to have AC both in living room & bedroom. lots of small bonuses like cooler bag + beach towels for picnics; we didn't see beach chairs in closet which has so MANY hangers. small mixup as we asked for late check-out as cleaner arrived as we left & company called to apologize. resort staff were pleasant.

Our unit was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The location could not have been better. Centrally located on the island in Kapaa and walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed dinner at Hukilau lanai (which is walking distance) and live Hawaiian music. Bed was very comfortable, AC cool and full kitchen very handy. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay and would definitely recommend this unit and stay here again. Garden Island Properties was very helpful and communicated all the necessary information needed for our stay.

Lovely,Clean, Cozy & Comfort describes my experience with my stay at unit G-5 Plantaion Hale. It has the basic amenities that every traveler needs. The only thing that needs to be addressed is to make the building ID more visible & conspicuous for guests since the buildings are all identical. A bigger lighted sign would be a big help!

The property was well maintained,clean and supplied with all that is needed for comfort and cooking. Loved the new cutlery. Electrical outlets around TV could be better managed so to provide spare outlets. NOT A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM. Adjoining shops, shopping area walkable distant away, and easy beach access for walks made this a great location especially as a great starting point for seeing the rest of the island on daily self guided trips.

Great location of this complex. Swimming pools were dirty so we didn’t use it. This condo had a king size mattres what was very soft. Didn’t get a goodnight sleep even one night! Kitchen was ok with oils and seasoning but salt was missing!!!! It had very old mixer what we complained and it was replaced the next day! Knifes need to be sharpen, we couldn’t cut anything! No place to hang out wet clothes to dry and towels. It was 4 of us for more then 2 weeks and we didn’t get enough towels so we had to wash it. Loundry room is right next door so can get noisy as well! No beach toys and body boards:-( 3 beach chairs but only one was reclining. It had cleaning supplies what was nice to use.

The location is really great. The condo was clean and very comfortable. The only downside is it is very close to the highway and gets a little noisy during the morning and evening commute. It's quiet at night and if you have the windows closed and AC on you can't hear much. There are so many stores, shops, and restaurants nearby. Coconut Marketplace is right next door. Safeway is open 24 hours. The pool and hot tub are very clean and nice to relax in. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals or reheat takeout. Having an accessible bathroom was helpful for me as I was healing from a severe leg injury. The king sized bed was very cozy and there was more than enough space for 2 people in the condo to stretch out and chill after a nice day snorkeling at the beach, riding bikes along the coastline or having drinks at the Hukilau Lanai or Lava Lava Beach Club. Plantation Hale Suites are a short drive up from the airport. You're close to all of the great shops in Kapaa and Lihue, and about equal distance from Princeville and Poipu so you get the best of both sides of the island.

The unit is very good and fast to reach from the airport. There parking is very good. The unit itself was very clean, big and the temperature was very comfortable even though the air conditioning was off.

The beach is reachable by foot but too rough for swimming.

Very good location, decent price, very nice pool and bbq area. Appreciated that there was foil and cling wrap as well as beach toys available. However, our unit smelled strong of mildew/mold and the wooden spoons in the kitchen drawer were covered in green and grey mold which spread throughout the inside of the drawer. Carpet could use a good deep clean...we had a 6 month old who was on the floor a lot and it felt grimey under foot upon arrival.

Almost four weeks in Kauai to visit old friends and old haunts. Plantation Hale Suites are a good location choice with ease of access to south side and north shore. Street Burger and Olympic Caf are favorite eateries. Wailua is the "best" golf venue, and Na Aina Kai Gardens is a must see spectacular Garden and Sculpture Park.

Wife and I stayed at the Plantation Hale for 8 days. The room was clean, and comfortable. The only draw back was the room is on the same side as the highway. And while some mornings you could open the window and it was nice other times it was much too noisy. Which is not Garden Islands fault. Just be aware that you will hear the road all the time.

A nice, smaller vacation complex in popular Kapaa. Grounds and pools are well looked after. Good access going north or south on the main highway around the island. A bit of a hike to get to the beach which is for experienced swimmers only. Proximity to the main road means constant noise 24/7, don't expect peace and quiet but it's tolerable with the doors closed and ac on. Was very surprised at the lack of available recycle facilities, basically if it doesn't have a monitary refund, it gets throw away - like cardboard (really?) Overall, a reasonable place to stay.

Was fortunate to get a last minute rental at Plantation Hale. The unit was clean and comfortable.

Everything went great. The folk at Garden Island Prop. are easy to work with and the condo was very nice. One thing I can tell you is - when we entered there was a very slight smell of cigarette smoke and I found a cigarette lighter outside on the deck placed in between one of the concrete blocks. Someone was smoking in that unit! I personally cannot stand the smell of smoke but it was very slight and not a problem at all. I would like very much to contact you soon to arrange another trip for this year as my granddaughter is appearing in a new production of "School of Rock" in November. I don't have the definite dates set yet but I hope you'll be albe to assist me. Thanks very much for being my "go to" vacation rental people!

Good sized room. A/C worked well. Comfy bed. Close to Kapaa town, but you'll need to drive most places.

Overall very pleased with our rental and service from Garden Island Properties. Photos are accurate. Furniture is in good condition and kitchen has all supplies necessary. There were also beach chairs, a small cooler, and beach towels for our use - which I found very considerate. I would definitely recommend this unit to other renters. Price is very reasonable as well. Only recommendation would be to have a later check out time if possible (ours was 10am) and arrange with hotel staff to provide toilet tissue.

We had a bit of a mix up when we checked in as we were given keys to the room and as we walked in there were other people's items and luggage already there. The front desk checked in someone to our room, but we ended up getting a second level which we wanted in the first place. Not a great first impression. The room was decent and had many items that we used through out our stay. The bathtub was dirty and the kitchen cabinets were filthy on the outside and need to be cleaned. The location was convenient to stores and restaurants and various sight seeing on the island.

This property was in a good central island location. Some road noise in the evening but generally quiet. Beach access limited due to construction fence. Cleanliness of property was questionable - the bathroom counter was sticky and a few other things were not quite clean. But our visit was on the whole enjoyable!
