About Us

Garden Island Properties LLC is a family owned and operated Real Estate and Property Management business on the Island of Kaua'i in Hawaii.

The company was founded by Greg and Sue Strickland in 1992 and just a few months later, Hurricane Iniki hit Kaua'i when Greg was renovating the office. Sue took the business to their home temporarily, while Greg remodeled the office and the doors opened for business prior to the end of 1993.

Greg was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Surfing was his main passion and in 1972 he left Australia and his travels took him to California, Europe, South Africa, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tahiti, and ultimately chose Hawaii as his home. After meeting Sue in 1979, he settled on the island of Kaua'i. Greg currently enjoys stand up paddle surfing, gardening, golfing and spending time with his family. 

Sue was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Sue enjoys, hula, yoga, going to the beach and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. 

Greg has been a licensed realtor since 1986 and Sue since 1991. Daughter, Kanani joined the company in 2015 after working in the finance industry and is now a licensed Real Estate Broker and Property Manager. Garden Island Properties LLC specializes in Kaua'i Vacation Rental Property Management and General Real Estate Brokerage.
