We could not have been happier! Our main "want" was an unobstructed view of the ocean and that was delivered in spades! The condo is small, just right for 2 people really, and that worked out fine. There are restaurants and shops within easy walking distance, so if you just want a day, or two, to chill and not drive anywhere this is the place! I would definately recommend to family and friends.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in the Garden Island Properties. It was our first time to Kauai and wanted a place that gave us access to the north side of the island as well as the south side. Poipu Beach is about a 35 minute drive to the south. Hanalei Beach is about a 40 minute drive to the north. The property itself was beautiful. It was right on the coast and gave us balcony views of the ocean. Every morning we woke up and enjoyed the sunrise over the ocean. The property is located next to the Coconut Marketplace which provided easy, convenient access to a grocery store, restaurants, shopping and a farmers market. The property is just a short drive from Kapa'a proper with other grocery stores, restaurants and touristy options. The condo was clean and provided everything we needed, even a little kitchenette with dishes and silverware. The property management was very easy to communicate with and always very responsive to us reaching out. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would like to stay here again!

The photos were a big help in my selecting Islander on the Beach and the unit; however, the photos don’t even begin to depict the absolute beauty of the resort and surrounding area. It was simply breathtaking. The grounds are immaculate, a virtual tropical paradise.

The owner of the unit accommodated all of our needs, including in an inquiry followed by a last minute request for a late checkout. Islander on the Beach is a central location in Kapa’a. It’s location right behind the Coconut Marketplace was truly an added bonus, as it provides so much with great boutiques, tasty restaurants, various rentals, farmers’s market on certain days, and an ABC Marker that provided everything you needed, and many great hangout, relaxing family areas. Bobby V’s is great Italian Restaurant in the marketplace, and Lava Lava Beach Club is mere steps away on the beachfront. And, you simply must try JoJo’s Shaved Ice.

Garden Island Properties was wonderful. They provided me with a wealth of information on interesting things to do, see,and a host of activities. Their concierge was the bomb. She made great suggestions, including scheduling my activities. I definitely will contact them outright for my next visit to Kauai. Kauai is a gem. We fell in love with the island our first time around, and couldn’t wait to go back. I was not disappointed. I saw and did so much, and yet there was still so much to explore. I’m already anticipating my next trip to Kauai.

If you’re looking for a quiet, friendly, and relaxing place to stay with an awesome view of the ocean, this is the place for you. You don’t even need to rent a car. Stores and restaurants are a 5 min. walk.
This condo is best for only 2 people but does have a sofa couch. No silverware or dishwasher, but not a problem for us. The ABC store had what we needed. I left a bottle opener for future quests.
Although older buildings, the groundskeepers did an awesome job.
You get your exercise going up the 3 flights of stairs. (No elevators)

We have stayed at this condo many times and love it. It is right on the ocean, and you can fall asleep to the waves crashing, and wake up to the beautiful sunrise. We are gone all day and mainly only sleep at the condo, so it is perfect for us and has all we need.

This place is perfect! Right on the beach so you can see both sunrises and sunsets. I brought my daughter with me for her senior trip and the sofa sleeper is very comfortable. I have rented properties through Garden Island a number of times. I have always received excellent service and the units have always been as portrayed. Islander on the Beach is by far my favorite. It is perfectly located with regard to the beach, it is surrounded by charming shops and some very fine restaurants. It has easy access to the lovely town of Kapaa and the primary road granting access to the rest of the island. The condo had all of the necessities two equip me for my stay. The Garden Island staff is attentive and responsive. I have stayed in the same unit twice and it has been updated and refurbished. I would definitely stay here again and do recommend it to my friends.

Islander of the beach is located just 10-15 north of the Lihue airport. This ended up being the perfect location for us as the had plans to enjoy all parts of the island. It positioned us 45min to 1hr away from nearly everything we were interested in doing from the Kalalau Trail, Hanalei Bay, Popui Beach, Hopii Falls, Waimea Canyon, and Kokee State Park. We were also closed to several great local restaurants and grocery stores to meet all of our food needs. When we come again, we will definitely stay here!

This unit offers amazing ocean and sunrise views. The beach is a few steps away and easily accessible. We were pleasantly surprised how quiet the building was during our stay. Everything you need is included in the unit; the small cooler, beach chairs and umbrella are great to have for a beach day. During our stay the fridge door didn’t close properly, however, maintenance stopped by the same day. The team responds to any emails quickly which is much appreciated. You can’t go wrong staying here. Beach, ocean, Coconut Market Place, if you like pool lounging and cocktails, torches at night and AC, this is great. Perfect for a couple. Perfect vacation in paradise!

This property was ideal for my husband and I. Our first time on Kauai, it is ideally located mid-island for easy sight-seeing either direction. The frontage road in front of The Islander was helpful in avoiding traffic that built up at the intersection nearby. We had bikes and a car. Loved the bikes for the ocean front bike trail. We also loved Lava Lava Beach Club next door to the property for food and drinks. The pool bar at The Islander was awesome. Had some great nights just hanging out poolside. The beach is easily accessible and we had no problem snagging a lounge chair every time we beached it. So fun in the ocean. This unit is on the third floor, no elevator, so be prepared to carry all luggage up. But you only have to go up with it once! Coming down is easy. The room has great AC, large TV, Queen size bed, coffee maker, and was just right for a couple. Loved hearing the waves all night long. Affordable enough for an ocean front room. We definitely want to return. Love it!

We had such a great time during our stay. We loved the central location. The beach chairs, beach towels, and small cooler were wonderful. The islander at the beach, so that was wonderful. Lava Lava was a great place to walk and eat. Safeway is close to get things for your beach outings. For us, I wish the cooler was a little bigger for those all day beach days.

Such a great place to stay. 1st time on Kauai and this location was perfect. Central to everything. Having Coconut Marketplace right there was amazing. The deli at the grocery store is so good. Everything you need. Few food places to eat as well. The unit was great. Amazing view, everything we needed for our stay. The pool bar happy hour is great. The property is beautiful. My husband and I stayed here for the 4 nights we were in Kauai during our 2 week Hawaii vacation. The bed is comfortable, the bathroom is spacious, and the patio overlooking the beach is fantastic! The grounds are beautiful and there is a nice little pool bar to enjoy. It's also great to be located right next to the Coconut Marketplace area with access to food and shops within very short walking distance. The beach is not crowded at all and we really appreciated having access to beach chairs and umbrellas in the room. I will say this beach is probably not great for kids because there are a lot of unpredictable waves, but we were able to swim without issue. This was our favorite accommodation on our trip and we would definitely stay here again!

We had an AMAZING stay at this property August 2021 for our 1-year delayed COVID honeymoon. For the price, this place is unbeatable! First of all, waking up to sunrises and going to sleep to the sounds of the ocean is amazing. The entire property was kept immaculately clean and the access to both pool and beach were perfect. Coconut marketplace, IMIA coffee, Sleeping Giant Grill, and ALL the other food options within walking distance were so nice as well. Would HIGHLY recommend and stay again!

Excellent. The property was very well-maintained. It lived up to the pictures. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Very little went wrong but when something did arise they addressed it immediately and cheerfully. When the TV broke they went out and bought a new one double the size and installed it within 24 hours. I have stayed with them before and will stay with them again.

We were extremely happy with our stay at #348 Oceanview and hope to return soon. The condo was clean and in good repair and has an amazing view! The only thing I would have liked to have seen would have been utensils for using the grills by the pool and at least one kitchen knife for cutting fruits and vegetables. The property at Islander on the Beach worked out very well for us. It was easy to find and took only a few minutes coming from the airport. The property is well maintained and nicely landscaped. There was a constant effort at upkeep with the trees, flowers, bushes, etc. The room was well equipped and even included two beach chairs. The location next to the Coconut Marketplace made it convenient to shop and we ate several of our meals there as well. It was only a short walk from the room to several grocery stores, a drug store, and other shops.
While we enjoyed the property, we had bad weather during our stay. Of the nine days we were there, the sun was out only three of the days. The others were cloudy, rainy, and very windy. The power went off one night during a very windy storm. While we enjoyed the property, I don't think we would return there again in January.

We liked the location, view, proximity to beach!, Lava Lave and other restaurants close by, hotel staff great. Exterior condition and Pool-Bar were good. Room itself was ok. Furniture is dated. Biggest complaint was bed. The rest of the room was very clean but the bed smelled bad like sheets had not been washed or were moldy. Pillows were terrible. We ended up taking all the bedding to the laundromat and buying new pillows (which are now in the room). That made it much better but mattress could still stand to be replaced. Would definitely recommend if that was done.

It has a sand entry, few rocks, and even some snorkeling if you go at low tide. As for the room-, there were some issues. BBQ smoke tends to waft in between 5-8PM due to the proximity to the BBQs. The AC technically works, but cannot keep up the heat and humidity. The property says that the unit is regularly inspected- OK, butWe were also there at a hot time of the year, I think for the cooler months having the lanai doors open would be more than enough to cool the place down- except for those pesky BBQ hours. There is also a standing fan in the unit. The bed was very comfortable. Towels and sheets could be due for replacement- one of our sheets had a tear. Kitchenette with sink was very useful. We moved the microwave to the closet to have a bit more counter space and that worked perfectly. The condo comes with beach chairs and umbrella which are real treats if spending time at the beach we really appreciated those. I stay at Islander a few times a year, and in fact have already stayed in this unit twice this year. I love the view from the lanai of this unit, it's great. All rooms are at Islander on the Beach are good, and all pretty much the same. I was happy to find a new dinning table and chairs, and the internet worked much better than during previous stays. The AC in this unit is not as effective as most other IOB units, but we were generally comfortable. While I definitely enjoyed my stay, it's hard not to enjoy a beachfront unit in Kauai, I am disappointed to see ever growing management fees, and a lack of effective management. After two emails and a phone call to ensure pesticides were not sprayed in the unit during my stay, they still showed up to spray. The damage insurance seems now to be mandatory, while most other units do not even require a deposit. The 10 am checkout time is unusually early for this complex. The hospitality app. provided no more information than the emails, and was a bothersome conduit for the agency to push rental cars. Lastly, I see the rates for future stays have increased a Lot, nearly $50/night. So, for now, I would not recommend this unit.

We loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean and relaxing on the patio. Fantastic location for a great price.

This is our second time staying at the Islander On The Beach. First time in this unit. The Oceanview is very nice, but it does make it noisier in the unit. When we walked into the unit it smelled very clean. It was very nice to have a blender, Tommy Bahama chairs, cooler, toaster oven. We did wish there was a ceiling fan in the unit. I would recommend getting cleaning mid week. With it being so damp and rainy things just dont dry very good. This unit is so handy for walking, biking and getting groceries. We are not much for eating out. We enjoy dinner and drinks on the lanai. It was a wonderful holiday even though it wasnt the greatest weather. Thanks for letting us stay in this unit.

A very nice unit! The room was clean and has a great view. It was very quiet at night. Parking was problematic and had to park in the Grocery store lot. There was a problem with the door lock which was repaired very quickly (less than an hour).

We were in room 348 and it was a beautiful unit. We would highly recommend it. We saw turtles, whales and monk seals from our lanai. Everyone we dealt with were professional and friendly. We had an absolute fantastic time.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it!! Best view in the whole place! Well stocked with beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, and lots of towels. We would definiatly stay here again.

This facility was as advertised. Clean, well located for all events and locations on Kauai. We spent little time there as we were seeing as much of Kauai as possible. One down side for some people might be the third floor location with no elevator.

Everything was as we expected and the property was well taken care of.

Some minor things that I would have wished for:
1) A slightly bigger sink. Washing dishes was a little challenging in such a tiny sink. We were constantly washing dishes to keep the sink empty. Not a huge problem though.
2) A little more counter space. Could just be our preference, but we didn't use the microwave or toaster oven, and would have liked more counter space for cutting fruit, making salads, etc.

Two minor exterior bothers:
1) Birds. We didn't take much advantage of the deck simply because the birds would bother us any time we were out there. The surface of the deck and chairs felt in need of a clean.
2) Grilling / food smells from nearby pool area. Not a huge deal, but it's kind of a bother to have to keep the door shut so grilling smells and tiki torch fuel smell wafts into our place.

One bother about the Grounds:
Parking: with some construction in the parking lot, all the lines have been repainted and they are very narrow and there doesn't seem to be enough for all tenants. We regularly had to park in lots just a bit further from where we could enter the grounds. This was only really a bother when arriving / departing with full bags.

All in all, we enjoyed the location of the rental, the rental itself and would stay there again if ever on Kauai. Occupants of the other units were super quiet and chilled out and the grounds are very well taken care of.

With a view like this unit gives you, its pretty hard not to enjoy your stay. Some high points of this rental include; the nice 3rd floor view and a super clean, well stocked rental. We also appreciated the timely profession communications with the garden Island properties staff.
A minor annoyance with this unit was that the AC seems to need a tuneup. Like the previous guests, we just left it set at the cool max, and it was comfortable, but similar systems in other units responded much quicker than this one. But, we were comfortable. Overall, an easy place to recommend.

Nice studio size condo centrally located on edge of Kapaa. Unit was clean and furnished with a few dining amenities with limited cooking facilities. Balcony overlooked the ocean without any obstructions and was just a few steps to the beach. Unit had beach chairs, boogie boards and cooler for daily jaunts to other parts of the island. Condo was comfortable but needs some updating along with new towels and sheets. Enjoyed our stay!

We had the most beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise! The location was great; easy to walk to many restaurants and shops. Bed linens and dishes need updating but otherwise a great place to stay.

Sit on the balcony and watch the dolphins and whales pass by or admire the starlit sky. Well located with easy access to everything, you really can't find better for the price. There's great snorkelling (for strong swimmers) right off the beach in front of the bar next door (schools of unicorn fish!).

The only negatives - pressure on parking plus no access to the laundry for non Aston booked guests, oh and some decent wine goblets would have been nice.

The Islander was perfect for what we were looking for... a home base to explore Kauai. Well centrally located to drive anywhere and close to shopping, food, gas, restaurants, rentals etc. Our unit had a beautiful ocean view of the sunrise and was close to the pool and hot tub. We used the walking/bike path along the ocean many times.

What else can be said about the great views and true Aloha feeling at this ideal Islander location? Enjoy the amazing views morning through evening, weather permitting, your day is full of activities, biking, hiking, paddle boarding,or just sightseeing, if it rains, wait a few minutes and the sun will most likely return with a rainbow or new flowing waterfalls to enjoy.. Use the provided fridge to make sandwiches or a salad and pick any random empty beach / park for a picnic. We have been staying at the Islander or over 20 years now and still find many 1st time things to do.. This is an ideal property and a well maintained room with no problems. Relax, enjoy....Aloha

We have stayed at the Islander on the Beach, Room 348, multiple times now. The oceanfront view (can't be over 75 feet from the beach) is a view one never gets tired of seeing or hearing. The room is always clean. The bathroom is always appropriately stocked. The room cleaning service is always timely and professional in the job they do. We thought that the grounds were beautiful. In our mind even better manicured and maintained than before. The location is still perfect for us as we many times just stay on the grounds and the stores and restaurants around the facility. But the location allows us easy access north, south, and west if we want to snorkel, dine out, or just take a drive. We enjoy the room and facility every time!

My wife and I rented this unit for one week and really enjoyed our stay. It is not fancy, but was everything we needed with a great view of the ocean from a private lanai. it does have AC, which some rentals do not. It was quiet, safe and convenient for the things we planned to do. We enjoyed sitting out on the lanai in the mornings the most and would love to stay in this unit again in the future.

Though this property is technically privately owned, the Islander staff could not have been kinder or more accommodating. The room was perfect: comfy bed, clean bathroom, and plenty of space to unpack and store your clothes. The view was gorgeous which made the pricing even more unbelievable. In short, this room is a really great value! Not overly opulent with a matching price tag, but also more than comfortable enough to spend the week. Would highly, highly recommend. We really enjoyed our stay. The view was more than spectacular. What could be better than that plus listening to the waves break and having a nice ocean breeze blowing in your open patio? The location was convenient as we explored the island both to the north and the south. There was a grill near the pool area which we actually used to make the most amazing ahi tuna steaks. There was an adequate supply of towels both for showers and the pool, and the kitchen was well stocked - even had a cork screw! We would definitely recommend this place!

great view..great room...great price

Had a wonderful stay at Islander on the Beach #348. The location is a great central location for activities all over the island. The only two complaints would the lack of parking and the musty smell that greeted us when opening the unit. I can only assume that the unit had been closed up for a few days. The smell pretty much cleared within a couple of hours of airing it out. The sound of the surf was wonderful and waking up to the sunrise every morning on the balcony was amazing!

This place is in a very central location, close to a supermarket, gift shops and restaurants. It has a great view and maintained really well- perfect for 2 people!
