Condo was spotless, well maintained and equipped. The unit has been renovated and updated. Had some issues and property management company responded immediately with a focus on customer service. The resort needs to provide umbrellas for much needed shade around the pool. I would stay here again and recommend.

We stayed at Kapa’a Shore Resort Aug-Sept 2023. Although we saw that some previous reviews had mentioned that the unit was dated, that didn’t bother us at all. It’s spotless and well maintained. It is equipped with everything you need and the furniture is comfortable and in good condition. The location is perfect! We’ve been to Hawaii (Maui, Kauai, Oahu, Hawaii (the Big Island) many times. We’ve done the expensive, but beautiful, resort hotels and other condos. This is where we want to return to. Hopefully we will be back next year!

The property is older and dated a little, and there is no air conditioning. Lots of fans, but still hard to sleep on a hot and humid night; even though the bed was great. However, it is well maintained, and the condo was well appointed, very clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. Thanks for the use of beach chairs and cooler. Parking is free and safe and there are no other resort fees.
The pool and hot tub were very nice, and we liked the BBQ area too. The best part is the location. It is only 30 steps to the waves, and the views are spectacular. We spent a lot of time on the patio just soaking it all in. This complex is also centrally located and this makes it convenient to explore the entire island. Great bike path, and easy walking to excellent food.
When you add it all up, definitely 4 star and we will be back.

I've been staying at Kapaa Shores for 30 years and have always enjoyed my vacation there. The new owners of condo #106 have updated some of the items, but they need to renovate the entire condo at the rate they are asking.

We enjoyed our stay at Kapaa Shore Resort and would recommend it. our unit was on the first floor and had a beautiful view. The unit was well appointed and comfortable. The owners were very thoughtful and even included a cooler and cooler frozen blocks. We loved sitting outside and watching the sunset. The guidebook in the room, was invaluable. Lots of good restaurants within walking or driving distance. We also love the beach trail along the ocean which is good for walking and biking.

This unit is an amazing choice! We loved being on the ground level to walk right out to the ocean and we never heard our neighbors. The pool was great and being able to watch a sunrise from your porch is unbeatable! Staying in Kapaa is also great due to its central location on the island! Will stay here again!

This is an amazing place to stay! We LOVED being able to walk out to the ocean right from our patio. The pool was great, the staff was friendly, the views were spectacular! Being in Kapaa is great because it's pretty centrally located. We also liked being on the ground floor and couldn't hear our neighbors at all. The staff was very helpful with us finding a pack n play for our baby. We will definitely be staying here again!

Condo with tremendous ocean view and perpetual breeze from the ocean. Centrally located in Kapa'a on the east shore. Well maintained with appliances and utensils for cooking. Propane grills and pool within 100 yards.

We (2 adults) spent 4 weeks of Jan’22 in this condo and loved it! This will be first on our list if we are lucky enough to return to Kauai in the future.

The condo appears to have been updated recently. Clean. Well equipped. Awesome setting and location. Kapa’a was the perfect low-key area for us. Walkable to grocery, dining, beaches, shopping, bike rental. Short drives to more of the same, plus hiking & kayaking. Long wide paved walking/biking path along the coast and through Kapa’a town starts right at the property!

Property Management responded immediately and pleasantly to the few minor issues and questions. The complex was likewise in good shape and on-site personnel were pleasant and helpful.

Only two items of concern were:
- The sofa/sleeper was a bit dated and uncomfortable. (We didn’t need/try the sleeper.) Probably not a problem for short stays, but we were there 4 weeks, so would have liked something more comfortable.
- A few doors down from us in the same building, a contractor was using a power saw to wet-cut tile on the ocean-side balcony. Very loud and annoying for a few hours on each of 3 days. It appeared other units had some remodeling in progress (but, not active), so the noise could add up. Seems like this kind of noisy work should not be allowed on the ocean-side of the property.

First off let me say Garden Isle Properties is easy and great to work with. The property itself was lovely and the location is perfect. The unit 106 was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable for a rental. The units kitchen had everything in it to cook BUT the place is in need of serious updating. The sliding door wouldn't lock and we called GIP and they came over quickly and fixed it. All the metals in the place were corroded and it just needs updating.If I stay here again I will look at an updated unit. The grounds are wonderful!

We stayed here just last week and the view from the room is amazing. It’s on the east side so you only get a sunrise but it’s a great setting. Has nice amenities such as beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler. Pool and hot tub right on the ocean are a bonus. No beach to lay on but a nice view none the less. Mattress could be more comfortable. Close to restaurants, markets, shopping. Looks better on the inside than the outside. If you’re looking for more seclusion I suggest going further North to Princeville.

Very good stay. All concerns are minor and stem from the booking being made through a third party (ETSI) out of Florida. I am not from Florida, ETSI is based there (Do not post my name as being from Florida please) I did not receive any emails immediately prior to our arrival, so did not have the access code to the residence. GIP did send the check-in info to ETSI, but they failed to forward to me. GIP solved all concerns on-site though. Thnak you!

We had a great time and the view is amazing from this unit at Kapaa Shores. The central location and ability to walk almost anywhere you want to go is great. The only issue with the unit is that the dishwasher is in need of being replaced and some of the furniture is getting to the point where it could be replaced. But overall the cleanliness and overall condition of this unit is very usable.

Overall the rental was good. Great location, helpful staff, quiet and fairly clean. It's a bit dated however the pictures on the walls are fun and current. Lacking a few items in the kitchen. No mixing bowls and only a couple storage containers. Never could figure out how to work the bedroom light/ fan switch so we were unable to adjust th fan speed. The fan in front room doesn't speed up very high either.

The location of Kapaa Shores Resort is an amazing and beautiful property. However unit #106 needs some love, its old and tired. The furniture, kitchen and overall appearance requires repairs and revamping.

Stayed here 2/3-2/12/2019 - Rainy & Windy for the first few days but still gorgeous. The island is breathtaking. Also, worst storm in decades on the weekend of 2/9-2/10 with extremely high winds and rain. A Bit Unnerving, but still had a good time. Didn't get a chance to see everything we wanted - but what a great excuse to come back! Will definitely return in the next year. A lot of people thought this condo was dated but we thought it was fine - BEAUTIFUL tile floors. Make sure and go to the Smith Family Luau - it was phenomenal!!! (Plus, they picked us up and delivered us back!)

We had a great time. The unit was clean, however, really dated. It had everything we needed to cook, and play. Overall - very satisfied. I would stay here again. Note: There is no beach access, which I did not know at the time of booking. If you want a sandy beach - stay somewhere else, nevertheless, we made it work, and overall - it did not impact our fun/stay.

Wow, did we have fun here! The place had everything we needed and then the stuff we didn't even know we needed! Sunscreen, bug spray, a cooler, shampoo, conditioner, soap, cooking utensils, pots & pans, etc. The layout of the condo & surroundings were beautiful. The pool & hot tub were perfect. Instructions were helpful. Suggestions for things to do were included. The location was excellent to stay local and to travel the island north or south. I would love to stay here again!

The location is great and you have everything you need in the kitchen. The cons for me are: dirty floors and no direct beach access.

We loved everything about our stay. Glad we picked Kapa'a, and even happier we chose to stay in this unit. Direct access to the ocean, and walking distance to all sorts of fun things to do and see. We liked how the unit was decorated, kind of old-school "tiki." Added to the experience. Everything was clean and well cared for, and the kitchen was perfectly equipped. Appreciated the Jacuzzi after hike on Kalalau Trail to Hanakapi`ai Beach and back. The other guests were friendly, and there is a very good vibe to resort. Will definitely be back. (PS, the pic of the lanai shows the lawn with a worn dirt trail going through it, but that is gone now. . . just grass!)

The proximity to the ocean, less than 50 yards, with its near constant and relaxing trade winds breeze is more than enough to recommend this rental. We were able to enjoy many excellant meals and activities becasue it is centrally located to all of Kauai's attractions and restaurants. Grills and kitchen facilities are good and useful for less formal meals. A pool and hot tub are 100 yards away. Very family friendly. The property is clean and well maintained, with all the utensils, dishes, etc. that one could want. If you're visiting Kauai, this is the place to stay! We will return.

Amazing spot. Clean, well located, nicely accessorized kitchen, great patio. Super close to Safeway. Used bbqs almost every night. Highly highly recommend. Provided beach towels, chairs and umbrella. WiFi was fast and reliable. Cant say enough good things.
Only issue was backback was stolen off of patio over night - but probably shouldnt have left it outside.

The unit is on the ocean, which is a big plus and the main reason I reserved. The unit does however, need some "refreshing". A few things would make it more enjoyable: a more comfortable sofa, a quality frying pan for cooking eggs in the morning, a 4-slice toaster, and a more comfortable bed. I appreciate the king-size bed, but it is not very comfortable.

We had the most amazing time in Kauai for our honeymoon! It was paradise. We loved our stay at Kapaa Shore Resort and would stay here again in a heartbeat. The best part was waking up every morning to crashing waves and gorgeous ocean views. The resort is quiet, safe, clean and well managed. Everyone in Kauai that we came in contact with were so friendly!The cooler, beach chairs and umbrella where amazing! We used them everyday. This was a perfect location for first timers in Kauai. Great to get to all parts of the island.

My wife and I spent 5 nights in this condo recently. We wanted to be near the water, and this condo is a stones throw from the ocean. We sat on the lanai each morning and took in the sunrise. What a great way to start the day. We also wanted a full kitchen and wifi, so this place checked all the boxes. There is a grocery store a block away and several good restaurants in the area. The trailhead for the Sleeping Giant (Nonou Mountain) hike is about 10 minutes away as well if you are looking for a hike in the vicinity. Although the condo doesn't have air conditioning, we were able to keep the door cracked and let the ocean breeze cool us. The two beach chairs and cooler were very nice to have for our trips to the beach. I thought the price was pretty competitive for what all is provided and the proximity to the ocean. Overall, this condo had everything we wanted and made our stay in Kauai comfortable and all the more enjoyable thanks to its various amenities.

The grounds were immaculately maintained, staff was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the sunrise and the night skies, so beautiful. We spent the most peaceful and relaxing 11 days in a year. Great view, perfect weather. It's in the middle of Kaua'i, so driving to attractions is easy. Be sure to see the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and Puff, The Magic Dragon.

When we arrived we did have trouble with the internet - so important these days to have that working. It was a Saturday so the Grand Island Properties desk was closed so I called the emergency number and the girl worked really hard to help me and after about an hour we did get a connection. The connection as described in the notes provided simply did not work - we could not see the link on the phone - and I believe I was directed to the main office server directly.

Kapaa is a great place to stay and I would stay there again for sure. There are great restaurants nearby, a great long walk along the beach trail which I used every day. Compared to other places we saw around the island, this seemed to be the right place for us.

Being from Colorado Springs we are quite used to homeless people but the beach squatters were not really homeless in the same way. They all had cars - and good cars too.

The unit is very nice. Right on the shore. It's not a swimming beach outside but it's a great view and place to relax on the lawn and walk down to the rock pools. There is a nice children's beach about 1/2 mile walk away on the road/trail.

The weather was not the greatest that week. Lots of rain and I did not bring the right shoes for hiking to the Nepali coast from the north end. But it was still great and relaxing. Next time we go I will approach /hike Nepali from the west.

This is a nice, modest unit. We loved the king bed, the well-stocked kitchen, the stupendous view, being right on the water. The little lanai is great, and there is a nice tile table. The recliner could use a cleaning. The bathtub started to back up on our last day. The wifi was not free, but for $15.95 we had wifi for 10 days. If you are looking for a modestly priced view, this is the place!

Older resort but well maintained. Unit is similarly dated in some aspects but clean. Minor housekeeping issue dealt with promptly by Sue. Bedroom vulnerable to off site noise.

This place was perfect for us. King size bed was comfortable, the condo was clean and had everything we needed. It's nice to have the essentials all there when your staying at a place for less than a week. you can spend lots of money and time buying these things and then having to leave most of it there. Good restaurants are within walking distance and location made it quick and easy to get anywhere on the island in a decent amount of time. Didn't use the pool or hot tub, but saw lots of people using the grills. Sunrises were right outside the lanai and worth getting up for. They could use an updated computer to print boarding bases so you don't have to bother the nice women in the office. Laundry facilities on property was a nice feature, too.

Property clean and maintained; everything as promised. Check in was easy. Loved the location - Kapaa provides just the right mix of shops and quick access to the north shore. Traffic can get a little much, but the condo sits behind some buildings so blocks traffic noise. And the ocean is right outside your door, with beautiful sunrises. Not a swimmable beach, but there are plenty nearby. Nice pool, and gas grill and laundry handy.Great buy for the money,and we definitely will come back!

We loved the location with the beautiful view of the ocean. However the cleanliness of our unit left something to be desired. We actually did some extensive cleaning in the bathroom. The colored towels, even though they were very cheerful, put up a red flag. White towels in a rental are a must!

First of all, the pictures do not do the place justice. The unit was very clean and nicely decorated; perfect for our family of four. The unit is on the ground floor, which was great to be able to walk out the patio door directly to see the ocean. I am an early riser, so I was welcomed each morning with the most amazing sunrise. This included the NorthStar peeking through the palm trees.

Having never been to Kauai before, I was looking for a unit that would be a good starting point to explore the island. Kapaa is pretty even between the north and south of the island, so it was perfect. Stores and restaurants were right across the street. I also found a local farmers market nearby and was able to buy some local fruits that are unique to the islands.

Overall, a great experience. Will definitely look to rent the same unit again.
