The condo was excellent:
1. Comfortable furniture and fixtures/closets.
2. Well-equipped kitchen with basic supplies.
3. Good bathroom with hot water, bathroom supplies and plenty of towels.
4. Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels are provided.
5. Fans and air conditioning are both great.
6. Great patio furniture and excellent view - unbeatable sunrises.

everything was great except the lounge chair on the patio was unusable, so we had to share the one. It has a tear and the seat is ready to fall apart. On the right side of the patio the drain pipe has come apart.

Perfect stay with an incredible view!

We loved our Pono Kai accommodations on Kauai during our Family Reunion last week. The unit was furnished with everything we needed and even had beach chairs, an umbrella and a small cooler for our trips to the beach. The property management was awesome and took care of the AC issue right away and even followed up to make sure we were enjoying our stay. This is an end unit which was pretty spacious and we loved the direct access to the bike path and beach. We will return. Mahalo Nui Loa.

The location and unit are superb! This wasn’t our first stay in this unit, and if we come back to Kauai won’t be our last!
However, I do have one suggestion and one complaint. The suggestion: It took a few days for us to learn how to operate the television networks and the air conditioning remotes. But once we did, we realized how excellent both additions were. I would recommend a simple, yet detailed guide for both be created and conspicuously displayed.
The complaint...This may be entirely out of your
management control: About halfway through our stay, new “neighbors” moved into the unit above. We never saw them, but heard their alarming thumping on the ceiling above us at all hours night and day. Sometimes it sounded like furniture scraping across the floor—other times thumping noises as if, someone wearing boots was running across their floor. We chose not to complain (and ruin their vacation). However, the noises were often startling and annoying. More than once waking us in the middle of the night.

It was a great condo for my family of 4. My two young daughters shared a queen(twin beds would have been better). It was so nice being on the ground level and walking up to walk on the beach at sunrise. (Beach was not swimmable for young ones). Being on the bike trail was great too. It was nice to go for a jog or walking to restaurants, food trucks, coffee. It was centrally located which made exploring the island easier. Snorkel rentals on site. The only negative was not having a washer and dryer in the unit(from a mother's perspective, it makes the trip more difficult). There is a laundry mat, but we didn't use it.

Kapaa is a great place to stay. The beach out front isn’t the best for kids but there are 3 or 4 kid friendly beaches within a 10 minute drive. Bubbas burgers and kountry kitchen within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

This condo is in the perfect spot for a laidback visit to Kauai. It had beach chairs and umbrellas, a stocked kitchen and great space. Bedrooms are nice - the secondary’s portable AC is a bit loud (as those things always are) but having it was amazing. The views really are that good - sunrise right into the living room and primary every morning! We didn’t use the resort amenities much but there were volleyball courts, a small pool and some putt putt courts around for use. Lots of great places to eat in the area; I recommend Lana’s for smoothies and the food trucks for anything else. Perfectly located for activities like kayaking, helicopter rides, trips to the north or south shore. A great base for adventure and relaxing!

We didn't really cook much but everything was there if we had wanted to. Amazing sunrises and a bike path just in front of the condo. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. This is not the room that we originally booked from VRBO as those pictures showed a room with a loft bedroom and bathroom in addition to a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. However the room was good as it did have an oceanfront view which we wanted. The dishwasher in the unit did not work and we had to wash our dishes by hand after using the dishwasher. Also the slider door was VERY hard to open even for my husband. The view was beautiful and it was just steps from our unit. The staff and the entire facility is beautiful. After coming home and our daughter feeling sick during our stay and sick for 2 weeks after, we assume that the unit has black mold as she is highly sensitive to black mold. She is well on her way to recovery, but this is something you might want to check out in this unit so others don't get sick.

The condo is a bit dated, but was clean and comfortable. My family had a good time and were happy with the condo. The location right on the ocean was fabulous. And, it is just a block and a half from most of Kapa'a town, which was super convenient. Do note, the reference to three beds includes a sofa bed in the living room.

Our unit was the perfect location. Convenient to the walking path, beach, town to grab coffee. The unit was generally in good condition but the furnishings could use updating. All in all it worked for us and when in Hawaii, we don't spend much time in the room anyway. = ))
Suggestions: A second chaise lounge chair would be welcome and a set of drapes on both windows in the bedroom with the Queen.

There were four of us (two couples) and there was plenty of room to have our own space. The view was spectacular the short distance to the beach was the best. We could walk to town to eat or bring food back to our room. The barbecue was close to our back door for the night and we decided to bbq ribs. The grounds are beautiful and kept up nicely. You could check out what is needed to play many games croquet, ping pong, and shuffleboard to name a few. Also, you could rent snorkeling, boogie boards, everything and anything you could ask for was there. Next time no car will be needed because I want to stay and not do any sightseeing just kick back and relax.

This rental had all the amenities we could ask for! Our family trip consisted of 9 family members and we lucked into the rental next door to C101. One of the bonus amenities was Air Conditioning that worked throughout the unit! We stayed here for a week in January 2022. This property is in a great location, just steps away from Kapaa beach, in a well-maintained community right on the coastal bike and walking path. Kapaa is a nice town with many food options. It is centrally located between the north shore and south so every drive is manageable. If you want to see the entire island of Kauai, you can't pick a better location to start and end each day.

Unit C-101 is also very well maintained and clean. The beds were excellent, kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils, and all appliances were functional. Decor is typical Hawaiian island, but you aren't coming to Kauai for the decorations, right? A/C was appreciated even in January! Best part is the view out of the sliding door in living area and windows in the master bedroom. Guaranteed best sunrises you will ever see. We also spotted several whales right from the lanai as we ate dinner!

The only small issue noted was that the unit above had apparently had a water leak and the ceiling in our unit was not fully repaired prior to our visit. It was only an aesthetic issue, however, as the dry wall had been replaced but was only roughed in.

The Pono Kai community has a great pool area, lots of activities for the family, and plenty of barbecue grills so you don't have to dine out every meal. Many of our neighbors were returning guests.

The management company, Garden Island, was very easy to deal with from booking and then throughout our stay. They checked with us via email frequently and made check in and check out very easy. We had no issues during our week, but I have no doubt they would be quick to respond.

I would easily recommend both Garden Island and Pono Kai C-101.

One of the most well equipped condos of Pono Kai Resort, easy access to beach, local attractions, grocery stores etc. The management is extremely prompt with answers to questions, and willing to go over and beyond to assist. We ran short on plates and cups ( was a long stay and party of 6) and they dropped off the utensils within a day. Would highly recommend this place for all those visiting Kauai.

Repeat visitor. Bottom floor great as your "deck" is the whole lawn to the trail. Kapaa area great as it makes the whole Island accessible. Driving from Hanalei to Waimea for a day is not so likely. Unit has everything you would need. AC is now even there although open windows much superior. Trail, Grocery Stores hiking, surfing and restaurants all over the area. Yes, I will return to that area someday and will look up this unit.

The condo is a great size and located in a perfect part of the island! The AC was a welcome addition on warm days and the ocean breeze helped cool things off in the evening!

We had an amazing time at Pono Kai's C101 unit. When we booked online after seeing the pictures, I was a little skeptical because the pictures looked too good to be true - green lawn, blue sea, open patio. We were pleasantly surprised It's all exactly as shown in the pictures, in fact, even better.
The living quarters are spacious and very tropical in a comfortable, beach house kind of way. The two bedrooms were of a good size with lots of closet space. One of the bedrooms looks out at the ocean and that was the most awesome sight to wake up to and to relax in the afternoon. The lanai is also set up well. We would eat breakfast outside every day which brings me to the kitchen. It is a very well equipped kitchen with all kinds of utensils and a great dishwasher.
There is one cupboard full of books, lots of guidebooks on Kauai, board games and puzzles. There was sunscreen,a flashlight, binoculars, lawn chairs, sun umbrella and just about everything that you would have in your own home.
The location of the unit is great. You can walk right onto a private beach with thick, soft sand and there are grassy areas with shade that you can also picnic on.
Our family loved the place. Also there's a swimming pool, basketball court, tennis and a putting green that we made use of.

We had a great time. It was a perfect location.. the complaints I have are 1 the carpet seems damp and sticky, they wanted shoes off but it was awful to walk on. It also smelled really musty and caused lots of sneezing and coughing for all of us.

This condo was in a great location in Kapaa on the ocean and right next to the downtown shops. The view was amazing and the sunrises were spectacular. The condo was a short drive to a grocery store and its kitchen was perfect for our week long stay. It is very spacious and has all the amenities we could think of. Coin operated laundry was just down the hall and we were easily able to buy small detergent packs and coins from the front desk. We had fun playing shuffleboard when we werent exploring the island. It is not fancy and its on a public walkway and was perfect for our needs! Wed definately stay here again!

The rental property had everything we needed for our stay. We loved it - but there were a few details that I wanted to mention. Please feel free to remove this part from my review *the shower curtains were extremely moldy, the front door handle was super loose and obviously tampered with and the condo had a very musty smell to it. Just a few details I wanted to bring to your attention but overall would stay again.

Just made reservations for next year. I am hoping to get 8 rooms for next year

I will say we were disappointed to find there was no air conditioning. Many of the other units in our building/complex had A/C but not C-101. That said, the owner did have many ceiling and floor fans available and the cross-breezes were strong during our stay ... AND since we were out and about most days, we did fine. Also, I knew this going in and want to mention as is done in other reviews, Pono Kai is an older resort. Our unit C-101 appeared to be recently painted and was well maintained but it is older. For us, this was not a problem. It's a matter of value. We feel we got a beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bath condo ON THE WATERFRONT for a great price. We rented through Garden Island Properties who were great to work with. Excellent communication etc. AND we checked in and out of the unit with staff from Pono Kai who we also friendly and easy to work with. In short, a great experience and we will be back!

This unit has everything--location, amenities, and access to many activities. Our unit was spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable. Listening to the ocean surf while falling asleep was as relaxing as the trade winds that coming onshore!

BEtween the front desks help in wake up calls for canoe club run or my wife's memorial issues and sues help with maid support for the family arrival are really no small issues! So thanks again!

We loved it. Stayed for a week. Property was clean, and immediately felt like home. Air conditioning was cold and easy to use. Bed was big and mattress better than mine at home! Also had a friend stay for 2 days who slept on sofa sleeper in living room and said memory foam mattress was better than sleeping in a bed. The town of Kapa’a was great, lots of really good food options and shooing was very close. We ate a lot at the ABC store which is across the street and our favorite was Chicken in a barrel which was great BBQ and easy walking distance. This condo is only 100 yards from a nice beach. Highly recommend!!!

Very central location! Perfect for 2 people. All the amenities you can think of. We would definitely stay again!
