Living on the Big Island and having a vacation rental of our own, we know there is very few perfect vacation rentals, this rental has a few blemishes but about as perfect as your are going to find. The management was great and wanted to make your stay as good as they could. The view of the sunrise could not be much better anywhere. The place was very clean and compfortible and walking distance to most everything you will need for your stay. The bed was not great for me but the wife was very happy with it. All and all I have nothing bad to say about this place and we would stay here again.

Great place to stay! The condo is close to restaurants and has excellent views of sunrise. Only drawbacks are there is only a small AC in the bedroom (completely no fault to the host I just didn’t read the description of the AC) and that you can’t swim at the beach in front of the condo. However, Lydgate beach is only 8 minutes away with calm and clear waters with easy parking.

The view and being right on the water and seeing and hearing the ocean Was amazing. All this condo wasn’t the most updated we’ve stayed in, it was well furnished, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for outings and the beach. The bed was super comfy and the fan and air conditioner in the bedroom were more than adequate to keep us comfortable. The rest of the condo was kept cool by the huge breeze off the water. There wasn’t a beach you could lie on, but there was a huge Lawn with loungers and the pool. There were many beaches close by. It was close to lots of restaurants and shopping and midway between the north and south sides of the island. Close to airport. Would return!

The condo itself is well taken care of; however, the Kapaa Shore resort is dated and the landscaping needs some upkeep, grass is dead, paint peeling. Also, the pool area is mediocre, no umbrellas, just the bare minimum.

The condo itself was clean, well-stocked, and overall as-advertised. The ocean view was beautiful. The air conditioner unit in the bedroom was very loud and didn't appear to do much, so sleeping at night was hot. The back side of the property (where we entered through) was looking a little rough, but the beautiful ocean view on the other side made up for it. The pool and hot tub were nice.

Great central location. Nice view, but no sandy beach out front. All lava. Sandy beach is further down but you have to cross private property. Pool and hot tub are nice. Portable AC unit works well for bedroom but has little impact on kitchen/living room. So can be warm for guests using the Murphy bed.

We had an amazing time at this B&B in Kauai! Ha’paa is such a great town on the island. It is close to a grocery store and multiple restaurants. We loved being able to walk across the street after a long day of driving to pick up something to eat. The lanai was great! Perfect view of the ocean and that ocean breeze was so refreshing. The place was very clean and the hosts were extremely responsive. Loved that they were proactive and sent great reminders during our stay. Will definitely make sure we stay here again when we come to visit. Thanks again! We had such a great time and I have you to thank for a lot that. Mahalo!

Just returned from our first trip to Kauai. It was wonderful. We really enjoyed our unit and will miss the amazing views and the morning sunrises. This place was as described. It was decorated in the typical Hawaiian theme. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen had all the necessities. The lanai was perfect to have a meal and enjoy the view. The property manager was very responsive to any inquiries. Safeway is close by as well as some really good restaurants, Starbucks,ABC Store,etc. The beach in front is not really for swimming but other beaches are close by. We didn’t rent a car (but will next time) but we were able to use Uber when needed. As stated there was no air conditioning but found it to be quite comfortable as there were fans in both the living room and bedroom. We can’t wait for our next trip. One thing, the roosters get up very early so if that is an issue would suggest earplugs. Didn’t really bother us and they are all over the Island so it wasn’t an issue specific to this unit. We would definitely stay again.

The property is extremely clean. The pool area was never too crowded, and it was well maintained. The location is perfect to be close enough to all parts of the island. The unit itself was as described. Sitting on the balcony is so relaxing. We didn’t need AC because of the constant breeze from the ocean. The mattress is very comfortable. We are returning in August and would stay here if there was room for 4.

This little condo is perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the views from the lanai were fantastic. The beach out front is amazing to go tide pooling. And just a short stroll along the beach you will find pretty decent swimming spots. The pool and hot tub were excellent as well. The building the condo is in is off to the side of the main resort buildings which was fantastic for privacy. Plus it was the only building that had direct ocean facing lanis. I was a bit worried about the room being too hot for sleeping, but they provided more than a few fans to get the air moving. The only downside was that there wasn't a washer/dryer in the unit. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Centrally located and a quick and easy walk to stores/restaurants. Plus being in Kapaa, you can make it to either side of the island in an hour or less. (Traffic can be a duzy in Kauai). Mahalo!!

We so enjoyed our stay in this condo. 10 minutes after walking through the door and opening the sliding glass door to the lanai, we knew we picked the right place. The condo was extremely clean as well as the pool area. The view of exceptional. Talked to couples who had been there three or four times and I can see why. So well located and we walked to dinner at great restaurant a couple of times and having Safeway right there was a plus! Hope to be back someday. Mahalo!

Great condo, lovely view from lanai, convenient location. Equal distance to north shore activities and to Poupu, Waimea. Lots of linens provided; large, safe walk-in shower. In addition to the proverbial rattan sofa, two comfortable easy chairs. The street-facing side of the building is in an alley that gives an unkempt appearance that initially alarmed us, but the interior of the condo and all the resort grounds were immaculate. Be prepared to haul your suitcases several hundred yards and up to the second floor. We’d definitely stay here again. The rental folks were very accommodating when we ran into two self-created problems.

Great view of the ocean from the second floor. Clean condo stocked with all you need for your stay. The surrounding area and general building condition are bit run down, but not terrible. Not what you think of as a "resort", but not a bad place to stay. Overall we were happy with the stay, the condo, and the view is awesome.

This was a great rental! We were concerned that we would not like it because there was no air conditioning but the ocean breeze was great! Because of a pre planning problem we stayed in another property close to this one that had AC but we actually preferred this property. It felt super homey, had a large linai with direct views to the ocean and was all around great! The only thing lacking was in room laundry which would have been very helpful since the coin operated laundry was not great.

We enjoyed staying at this condo, especially the beautiful views, and decided to make breakfast each morning just to enjoy the sunrise.

There is a Safeway within walking distance, and as we were travelling all over the island the location felt quite central.

There was a nice hottub and swimming pool on the property along with plenty of BBQ's. We would definitely look into this place again when staying on Kauai.

We had another wonderful vacation! We have been coming to Kapaa Shores since 2005 & only missed a few years during that time. We have seen a lot of upgrades over the years in unit 202 and all for better. However, this is not a complaint but just some advice. The bedroom dresser is long over due for a change. Again as we have said in the past, the unit is clean and all of the Staff @ Kapaa Shores is very friendly & accommodating. We feel it is our home away from home!

Clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of the shore and sun. Many fine restaurants within walking distance, but plenty of pots and pans for your own cooking. Good water pressure in the kitchen and bathroom, including the shower. Hot water is immediate. Nice tile work on the shower room floor. Hardwood floors throughout. Recommend taking shoes off at the entry to avoid tracking dirt and sand into the unit. It may be disconcerting that there is no air conditioning. But the balcony faces the ocean and the off shore breeze. We opened the sliding glass door and let the breeze cool the unit off which was effective and quick. There are also a number of fans which we made liberal use of. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The cable service provider is Spectrum which was new to us and presented some challenges, but we didn't go to Kauai to watch TV. The pool and grounds are well kept. On-site laundromat uses quarters (1.50/1.25), recommend you bring quarters. Washers and dryers all worked well. You need a key to get into the laundromat that you can get from the office. The grass is like a putting green and feels like carpet under your feet. Unit #202 appeared to be maintained better than the neighboring units, paint, eaves & window security. We were very happy with this unit.

Garden Island Properties were very quick in answering my questions, love the App they have very helpful and easy to use.The only thing that I would suggest is a new coffee pot and most of all a new mattress most definitely a new mattress, it was pretty uncomfortable, that would be the only thing I would complain about,2 weeks on it and we were pretty sore, we would definitely stay here again, Hate to complain about it because our stay was wonderful.

Despite six days of torrential rain, we enjoyed our first trip to Kauai. The accommodations were very nice. The condo complex itself, while a bit dated, did not show in Unit 202. The unit was very well provisioned, and a fully equipped kitchen. The Murphy bed in the living room was very comfortable and beats any pull out I've ever slept on. The unit was very clean as well. The only issue we experienced were the occasional nocturnal visits from the small ants on the counter tops. Despite being extra diligent in securing all food items in the refrigerator, they made their appearance anyway.
This is a privately owned unit I'd recommend. Incredible view from the balcony.

This condo is perfectly situated in Kapaa which gives easy access to both the north and south shores. Easy walk to town and the beach path starts right at the building. This path is so beautiful to walk, run or cycle on at any time of day. The condo is equipped with everything one could possibly need from beach equipment and picnic bags, even ice packs. The view from the lanai is wonderful We thought it was the perfect holiday home. Will be back.

First time visit to Kauai. Very pleasant correspondence with Garden Island Properties. Condo was as described & had everything we needed.Loved the view from Lanai. Just a few things that would improve the condo: more overhead lighting in living room/bedroom; replace carpet with hardwood or tile. Even though carpet had been cleaned, due to the fact that it was very old, it did have a musty smell. We bought air fresheners that help a little bit. We will be back.

We have stayed at the "Shore" several times before. We are not fussy about luxury but are more concerned about amenities and cost. This condo fits our needs well. We are not the typical travelers that stay at the condo most of the time. We are older adventurers that find most of our time hiking, beaching and exploring. This unit fills our needs. It has a nice deck and view which gives you a choice to have meals in or out on the deck. Since the beach front does not have a sandy beach we walk down the beach line(south) a few hundred feet to the sandy beach or spend time at the many beaches on the island.

Kapaa Shore Resort #202 is a great place to stay for your Kauai vacation. It is well equipped and the location is central making it easy to get to anything on the island. The ocean view can't be beat!

All was perfect. While not a big deal it would be nice if there were a couple of sand beach chairs provided.

This is a good choice right on the ocean having a one bedroom and a kitchen. No beach earea but there are plenty of public beaches around you. Also this condo is at start of walking path that runs for miles along the ocean. This facility is an older but clean complex. Units nearby going though renovation but work kept to inside so did not bother us. Two good restrauants on ocean with in walking distance, Lava on the Beach and Bull Shed. Sam's a litte futher to walk but great music while you eat... that is if Miki Miller is playing. Landscaping in front of this building needs to be spruced up.

we were a little surprized that we were not notified earlier about all the issues going on @ kapaa shores. even if we wanted to change our plans we could not have done so on such short notice. just to let you know we purchased a new coffee pot because we were not sure if the one that was there was replaced.a good faith discount from garden island properties would be a nice gesture next time we travel to kauai. it cost us a lot to travel all the way from nj, and also takes a lot of advance planning for a trip like that,and we always give garden island properties and kapaa shores 1st priority.

Condo #202 was a very comfortable, homey place to stay. It is oceanfront and the view from the lanai is awesome!! We saw a couple of whales from the lanai during our recent stay. The bed is comfortable. Everything was clean and ready upon our arrival. It is well appointed with everything you could possibly need except shampoo, which is fine as everyone has their own preference on shampoo. The neighbors and other visitors were very nice and fun to talk to. The condo management team was great -- very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this condo to others. It was very close to shopping, the grocery store, post office and several attractions. It's also very close to the airport.

Very comfortable, clean, quiet, great view from the balcony on the ocean front, and the room was equipped with everything that one might need at home(beach chairs, kitchen equipment, big tv ex.). Also the receptionist is always there and very helpful.

We have been coming to Kauai and the Kappa area for 17 years and this is the second year in this condo. The condo is centrally located to everything the island has to offer..1/2 way to either end of the island. If you decided to never leave the condo the ocean view is spectacular.The only wish would be that there were better pots and pans and less kitchen junk so that groceries could be put away. The only room is on the kitchen counters. The new couch is very uncomfortable.
